Thank you Chris. The feather surprisingly still holding its edge after it's third shave. I'm pushing it to shave four to see if it's up to the challenge. What has surprised me how well it's paired together with the assertive R41.

I am not surprised, it's all down to your technique and skill set :)

I mistakingly didn't take my growing shaving confidence and technique into my successful shaves I've had so far with this assertive duo.
I've said it many times in my postings technique and shaving confidence is the key to success with traditional wet shaving, adding to that I never aim for perfection every time I shave.

    Same again

Day 5 of the Iridiium Wizamet

Still nice and crisp, maybe needing a few more strokes

Still, a decent 2 pass shave with some touch ups

Small nick midline chin needing some and alum stick. Too aggressive on the East-West stroke, mea culpa

I should get another shave out of this blade, let’s see what happens

    Usual after shave treatment

    Warning: sunglasses needed here :)

Fine shave today.... A minute at the Loading Dock with the Jayaruh brush(#59). My Rembrandt clone(talkinabout muhself here lol), set things up well for a clean, clear shave all around from the Stoylin Agar soap. No damage. Great finish from the Agadir A.S. As Outstanding As I Gets.

    :thanks:

I had to do this shave very quickly before work as a shipment of plants for a new bridge with same name, the last of the trees were coming in at my parents Greenhouse at 9:30--9:35 am and was early at 9:20 am so I had to hurry at 9:20 am. Hopefully all the trees and plants are ready on Monday to pick up like they said as we have been holding 6 trees since last year and most of the other plants since late July.

Today's shave was a 9.5/10 still using dial 4 for the whole shave despite the power being out due to the payment being late for the previous month but we paid all of it though September and October. It was shave 3 on the bottom, 21 in total with the Personna 100 pack made in USA I bought in late 2017.

I used as always, my H 2 or 1962 Gillette Adjustable slim handle shaver without the case.

I shaved before the shower, so I used my home-made shaving lotion/soap combo from the hotel squeeze lotion bottle for shaving today waiting to cover the moustache last. I did have to do one part after the shower on my face as it was leaving a thin low layer of stubble due in part to lack of power having to use an Olight flashlight for my light source.

The blade was still on day 3 smoother because this bottom side got stropped more due to not having the blade all the way into the Twin Stropper during that stropping with the first 10--12 turns of the handle where the blade only spun about every 3 shaves in this period before I took the blade out and put it in all the way

Hi I am unsure of the exact date but I have one I purchased in 2002 and also one I picked up new for a friend
I immediately noticed the new one was not the same as the 2002 37c.
The new razor still gave a very nice efficient smooth shave but not to the same level as my earlier version.
The my 2002 37c could nick me quite easily if I was a bit tired at shave time or a bit lazy with my technique.
To put it simply the new one is a bit more user friendly in my opinion.
    Cheers.

    15th Wedding Anniversary Shave.

    • Razor : Gillette Aristocrat (15) OC DE Rhodium Plated Brass Circa 1930s (England)
    • Blade : Wizamet Super Iridium Stainless (1). (Russia)
    • Brush : Yaqi Caramel Cats Whiskers Synthetic . (China)
    • Soap : Razorock Nomad Shaving Soap . (Italy)
    • Aftershave : Genuine Ogallala bay rum and Sweet Orange. (USA)
    • Weight : 73 grams. (Razor)
    Hi all,
I had a very special shave today to celebrate the wedding anniversary of my lovely wife and I.
Like all couples it hasn’t always been smooth sailing at the very lest the good times have far outweighed the bad times.
In my case “I first had to slay the dragon to get the Princess”.
Or you could say I’ve got it right second time round.

The Gillette aristocrat 15 is as far as I know the first TTO aristocrat the first model being the 24k gold plated Christmas special that was available Christmas 1934 only.
The efficiency of the 15 is in my opinion the best of the Aristocrat's that I have used I’m sure that’s partly because of the open comb.
I'm not saying it’s the most efficient Gillette out there but it is a nice smooth close shave which paired up well with the wizamet blade.
Also in my opinion, like most of the vintage razors it can’t compare in efficiency and smoothness to more than a few of the modern offerings.
In saying that I like so many of us I really love the vintage Gillette razors.
The vision and craftsmanship of a few has given so much enjoyment and of course great shaves to so many.

The Razorock Nomad soap has a great scent with a thick lather and good cushioning and a nice aftershave feel.

Finished off nicely with Genuine Ogallala bay rum and Sweet Orange aftershave splash definitely my favourite line of bay rum aftershaves.

1 pass WTG 1 pass ATG with a couple of touch ups done.

    No, nicks no worries.

    Cheers.

Real nice shave on this Throwback Thursday. The Barbasol cream oozed out the way I like it-in cloud form. One minor miss, in the usual(for me)right sideburn area, but very well done elsewhere. No incidents of negativity. Great close from the Caswell Massey A.S.(Jockey Club, a favorite of JFK). When I run out of this aftershave, I'll have to wait til CW has a discount price on it before I get it again. As Outstanding As It Gets.
