Sunday, October 19 Extro Egyptian Oudh~~Rubberset 400/3~~Gillette New SC/Rapira~~Dominica Bay Rum The Extro is a soap product, so with a concerted effort and aggressive loading, it won't take too long to Titanic it. The undisputed king of Bay Rums for the finish.
Been busy so I was not able to report the XXX is finsihed. Here are the last two shaves: Next to last shave was whipped up with my Paladin, the steel was a Koraat 14 2.0 double bellied hollow ground beauty all followed by vintage Chanel Pour Homme. The final shave was a Joris DE and Rooney brush, wanted to do a straight razor for the grand final shave but I was pressed for time, heading to the airport. I was on my way to Hong Kong, just got backed today and I will take a week or two of variety before launching the next 3017.
Hope you had fun on your trip, Keith. Congrats on knocking out another soap. Did you bring back any souvenirs? It ain't officially a trip without souvenirs.
With the XXX finished it is time for some variety while I consider the next 3017. Back from HK I was missing my straights so I went with my stainless steel Dovo and Paladin brush and Table Rasa. Finished it off with Santal 33 from Le Labo. Next day I had to get moving quickly so I went with my Cobra Classic and classic Kent brush. The Zingari and Oud Wood were a good match. Another Dovo straight razor shave, in the tub is Stirling Electric Sheep, with the weather changing it will go into the storage drawer soon. The Terre d'Hermes is a nice match for the Electric Sheep. The brush is one of my earliest purchases, it is a Whipped Dog ceramic handle.
I frogot the lyrics after "Greeeen Acres Is The Place To Be". I pride my long-term memory, but I guess that pride isn't 100%.
To my Bride's deep regret, I do not have @Primotenore's "gift of song." However, I know the Green Acres song lyrics by heart, and I frequently belt out the tune in socially unacceptable locations and at elevated volume. It is not pretty, but I gotta be me (yes, I sing that one too.) We are often invited to people's homes for dinner, but never a second time. Aside from Joseph and me, there must not be many people that appreciate fine music. Sad.
