Bowl = small porcelain bowl, 12 cm diameter, better size for this small brush
Razor = Gillette No 77 thin handle tech 1945
Blade = Henckels day 5 !!
Passes = 2 and done
Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayers rose petal
ASL = Proraso with Oud
Scent = Burberry Hero

The Henckels is still going strong, smoother than when it started off on Day 1 but still cutting
Nice solid No 77 good grippy handle, no nicks no worries

OMG did I ever freeze myself this morning - as I keep saying, this Glacial line from Rod is something else. The cedar scent of this soap is so beautiful and there are other notes to it as well. (Perhaps lime?) The tallow formula promotes such wonderful lather with so much slickness, the menthol sensation is killer cold, and the postshave feeling is so comfortable. The Diana balm from Austria is unscented and bone chillingly cold as well as moisturizing with lots of soothing. Finally the Glacial Cedar aftershave went on with its delightful scent along with a whopping strong menthol kick. Three passes gave me a brilliant BBS shave that was fit for a king!

The brush was the Campbell's Badger(1939). Hey, let's see if I can work this into a Throwback Thursday shave....would be a great choice.

 

I probably wouldn't get Bill Neumann's Absolute Zero, as I've been reading it isn't as cold as the title implies. What's your take?

 

Rate it about a 3-4 but I do like the aroma.

 

Besides, you don't have anymore room on your bathroom sink.

To begin the spookiest week of the year I grabbed for last years collab between TRC and A&E The Blade Room and picked up the Heritage Gibbs.

The Blade Room is a fantastic scent that after last year I went and sold, wrong move. Regretting it when I saw it pop up on a BST I jumped on it. It just came in the other day and I’m so glad it did! It’s such a dark mysterious scent! It’s perfect to begin this week if lotsa scary movie watching (with the lights on). Thanks Jason and Peter for one of your awesome collabs. Looking forward to the new release.

The Heritage Gibbs is such a nice adjustable. Having never used an actual Gibbs I cannot compare. But I can say I get a great shave from this razor. I stay at 3 but could easily turn it up to a 5 and be fine. It’s a great priced razor and Heritage does awesome stuff with their homages to classics!

A great start to scary week for me! I hope it’s as haunted for you all too! Have awesome shaves!
