SPF15 Anti-Ageing Moisturiser. Greetings, First shave of November 2025..Throughout the month I will be using the Asda 3 Blade Pivoting Head Cartridge Razor for my Head & Dome shaves, and for my face shaves I will be revisiting the EJ DE89, Merkur 34C and a variety of my Parker DE razors paired up with various DE blades. My previous month focus has made me realise to get a proper feel of a razor/razors & blades to appreciate it's performance strengths & weaknesses you have to use on a regular basis not just a few infrequent additions to your rotation each year. The EJ DE89 'kelvin' along with the Merkur 34C are two razors that I've infrequently used over the last few years. The EJ DE89 'kelvin' has the same head as the Muhle R89 of which I've now passed on, the only difference is the handle on the EJ (Kelvin) is shorter of which I prefer and the price difference. Both razors perform near the same, the only difference in performance for me is the R89 feels marginally more efficient, but this could be the blade choice. I consider either the EJ DE89 or Merkur 34C are the only DE razors that most wet shavers really need. Yours truly included. The build and performance of both of these entry level razors is fantastic IMHO I've said in many of my postings I could happily shave for the foreseeable future with either of these trusty stable shaving tools, but like most wet shavers I like variety with my razors & shave set ups. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of The Real Shaving Co. SPF15 Anti-Ageing Moisturiser. My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine. Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.

Saturday's Cold Water Shave Cold Water Rinse Vintage Life Morning TOST Jayaruh #424 Synthetic Gem Clog-Pruf Gem Reversible CWR Humphrey's Witch Hazel Pinaud Special Reserve Well, Open Comb OCtober is over. Thirty-one shaves with 31 different open comb razors. It was a blast. We now have November. The Vintage Life Morning TOST Shave Soap was face-lathered well with Jayaruh #424 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gem Clog-Pruf Razor and the Gem Reversible Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Pinaud Special Reserve Cologne. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... I found a Gem Reversible Blade that had no rust on the edge and decided to give it a try. One edge was a little rough so I flipped it around and used the second edge. It was acceptable.
Saturday morning: Long hot shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Crystal day 2 Southern Witchcrafts Lavender SS Lubriderm Moisturizer Sir Canada Ceder AS Splash Pierre Cardin Cologne Because our weather got so windy and cold I opted for a setup with no menthol - this Lavender soap from Southern Witchcrafts not only smells gorgeous, it lathers superbly, it’s a tallow soap so it has plenty of slickness, and it leaves my skin feeling so relaxed as well as comfortable. The Lubriderm moisturizer is so soothing, and the Canada Ceder aftershave smells great but it doesn’t interfere with the Pierre Cardin cologne. A terrific three pass BBS shave to begin the month of November! Wishing you all a nice day - be well and stay safe! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for your excellent post. I think it's true that "Your milage may vary." I find the EJ DE89 and the Muhle R89 heads very similar, and the Kelvin head to be not as smooth as either of them. I will occasionally switch handles on various razors also, so I know it can make a big difference. In fact, I've had an EJ DE89 head on a RazoRock Vintage Thin Bar handle and loaded with a Personna Comfort Coated blade for about three days now. I'll probably use it tomorrow or Monday for it's first use. Sent from my SM-A526U using Tapatalk
