Great shave, Chris. I had an SOC cherrywood badger but really disliked the knot in it. Lovely handle though. So now I have an SOC cherrywood tuxedo synthetic that I quite enjoy -- lovely handle and an excellent synthetic knot...

Don't see the ProRaso Cypress and Vetyver being used much.

 

Another nice shave setup, Gary. The travel brush looks quite fancy. Does the knot retract into the handle for transport?

I'm trying to remember: was Derby the one that discontinued its longtime shave stick a couple years ao?

 

thank you John.i found the german 1920s? wellner silver shave mug at a local antique mall,the d.r harris soap puck fits it perfectly

 

thanks again John.the brush knot is stationary.i call it a travel brush solely because of its size.brand unknown,ebay score in a razor lot.this derby stick had a tinfoil wrapper similar to arko sticks.i think it's discontinued,not seen any for ages..i had this stored since before 2019..still industrial strengh citrus scent..

About the same result as yesterday, too. Very pleased. No damage. Nice finish from the Stoylin Spice A.S......I can still smell it, after 4,hrs. As Outstanding As It Gets.

 

I understand, and the Proraso brand only has a Boar brush where these brushes for some people can be kind of rough.

 

Not really a rebrand as the Proraso Brush is aluminum and now $19.00 in USA and has a plastic part over the aluminum at the very top band where both Omega models a $12 one and even nicer version of same model is $19 one that both look like the only Proraso bush are all aluminum on it, but you can get if using the cheaper Omega aluminum and the Proraso products for under $35 or just a hair over now. If I got the Proraso, I would have to not use the Eucalyptus and Menthol version because I associate Menthol with either cigarettes or being sick so they would be a no go for me. I would probably go the thick growth due to how quick my facial hair grows in for all but the moustache, plus I like the smell of shea butter.

Sorry, I am late with this post. Did a 2 pass error-free BBS shave this morning. Did have some alum feedback. Finished with the witch hazel and the matching aftershave. Take care.

 

Today's shave at 9 pm was a 9/10 as I used dial on 4 trying dial on 3. I got a BBS today on dial 4 but one bad set of cuts on the neck that did not heal for 1/2 hour probably due to not going up to dial on 4 like I should have. Today was Personna USA 100 pack day 7 topside/total.

I used, as always, my H 2 or 1962 Gillette Adjustable slim handle shaver without the case.

I shaved before the shower, so I used pump foaming soap Generic in a Dial pump on my face. I did keep the blade wet as needed and face was pre wet. I did like most days since late 2017 a partial clean opening up the shaver in middle of shave to keep going before the final clean at the end but did the partial clean of blade/shaver in middle of shave. I did have to shaver more after the shower for touch ups due to missing spots and then clean the blade/shaver at the end of this.

After Using the FEIYU blade I appreciate using a less mild and way soft stainless steel blade. Today was one of the days I am happy I am using a more aggressive blade with the skipping of 2 days.

Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
Lather: Gillette Skin Ultra Sensitive Shave Cream
Blade: Amazon Solimo. (D3)
Razor: Merkur 34C.
Razor: Asda 3 Blade Pivoting Head Cartridge Razor. (Head/Dome) (D4)

Post:
Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Cold water face & head wash with brush squeezing's,/Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With Care+ Witch Hazel./Superdrug Forest Fresh ASL./L'0REAL Soothing Birch Sap PSB.

The Gillette Skin Ultra Sensitive Shave Cream provided me with slick protective lather in a short space of time.

Finishing the shave off a with a few small dollops of L'0REAL Soothing Birch Sap PSB.

My face & precious swede are feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

Okay so the chrome plastic is the same I was not disputing that. Just thought it was the cheap aluminums that can be easily dented. I was just the Proraso has an extra plastic ring on the Protaso company owners added it that makes the brush wider in one spot and is why they can charge more than the cheaper in the lesser version of Omega brush that matches the Proraso bush as the more expensive Omega version does not match as well to the Proraso. The others from Omega are more actual plastic looking or wood outside of 3 models in the chrome plastic. Omega has some badger, silvertip badger, and very cheap synthetic besides the Boar in addition to some slimer brush sizes in boar, badger and synthetic as the Silvertip badger seems to only be in the normal size.

Firstly all of my sotd set ups are picked out & photo's taken for my next weeks shaves on a Friday, purely because it saves me time with my early morning postings.

As for the picture/photo in question it was take first on my phone indoors, I then uploaded the picture in Gemini Google and asked it to give the picture a "remembrance day feel", which changed the background and created a photo what you see, I then adjusted & scaled it down with Gimp android then lastly saved the picture as a jpg image for uploading purposes. I been having some fun introducing myself to Gemini Google with my phone images it's came up with some great results for me.
