    Wonderful set up and shave Joe. It's nice to see your Dumbo bowl make an appearance.

    Another great post and pic. 2 passes for 9 (nine!) day stubble :)
    Don't think I could wait that long between shaves, well done though!

    Hmm, yes that is cheating indeed!

    Good going Joe,
    Dumbo is back!

    Agreed, it often gave me a watery lather, but worked out OK.
    Still on my list of Shaving Items to Master, maybe I will devote some time to that next year.

    :eek:

    I stocked up on the last available locally when we heard the news of its demise.

    pm me if you would like to try some Joe, will try to beat the Xmas rush.

    You have kept that Pura Setola looking tidy Barry. Mine looks a bit less flash, but still works fine.

    Thank you Chris. Your Pura Setola is probably been put into your brush rotation and used on a more regular basis than mine. Mine is starting to break in wonderfully, and working fine too. I like Omega boar brushes.;)

    I mean the lather/foam products, I have not used them for a very long time.

    Oh, thanks for the heads up for others on the product being discontinued.

    Thanks, Chris. The 9 days between shaves wasn't intentional. Things just worked out that way. Although now that winter is nearing, it may happen more frequently. I find even a short stubbly beard can cut the windchill on the face quite significantly.

    I understand Mitchell's is still making body/hand soap and shampoo; it's just the shaving soap that it is dropping from its lineup. When I heard Mitchell's was stopping production of shaving soap, I did consider stocking up and trying to master lathering it one last time. But then I decided not to bother. If I did get it to work well for me, I would then have mastered a discontinued product. And if I didn't, I would have wasted time on a discontinued product...

    Thanks Barry. I do use mine quite a bit, especially with the harder soaps

    Good point that, about mastering out of production stuff, as far as soaps are concerned.

    2 Days growth

    Cream/Soap = Cella
    Brush = Setola boar
    Bowl = white
    Razor = Lo Storto
    Blade = Astra Day 5 and going strong
    Passes = 2 and done
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, rinse, pat dry, Thayer’s rose petal
    ASL = Cella
    Scent = Prada

    Fantastic Saturday shave. I was surprised how well behaved this razor was this time around, previously I had found it hard work. Easy peasy today

    Have a great weekend one and all

    Great shave, setup and presentation Chris. It may be that the razor/blade combo and your improved technique made your shave easy peasy.

    Saturday shave was same as the past two days, but for

    Prep-Suave 4 Men Bodywash(in shower)

    I like this new Suave bodywash...a little thicker soap than previous Suaves. Proved to be a nice combination for the Bill Neumann team. I learned that "the more cream the merrier" with the Bill Neumann shave cream...As we recalll, I didn't use that much in prior shaves, and they were OK, but not frankly to my liking. Much better today. Great shave across the board. One pass. No damage. Fine finish from the Bill Neumann A.S.(1911). As Outstanding As It Gets. A footnote-I broke out the Bill Neumann hand-soap so whatever I shave with until Dec 1,there will always be a slight representation of Neumann November.

    Boar brushes work superbly with hard soaps and shave sticks.

    Nice Italian shave, Chris!

    The traditional Cella "red tub" soap is great stuff. It's one of those soaps that I could use exclusively as my one and only shave soap for the rest of my life if necessary. Same for the Omega boar brush.

    I think Fatip razors are always on the aggressive end of the spectrum. The open comb variants even more so. A Fatip open comb slant ... not surprised you found it a tough one to use early on. If it's "easy peasy" now, then that's a tribute to the skill you have mastered since then.

    Shaving Recipe for today.

    Prep: Warm shower:/Cien Men Energize Shower Gel.

    Pre:
    Cold wet flannel to my face.
    Pears Transparent Bar Soap.
    Brush: Omega 10051.
    Face Lather.
    Lather: Haslinger Aloe Vera Shaving Soap.
    Blade: Personna Platinum Chrome. (D2)
    Razor: Merkur 34C.

    Post:
    Cold Water Face Rinse./Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's,/Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With Care + Witch Hazel./Superdrug Forest Fresh ASL./ Sensitive Aloe Vera Aftershave Gel.

    Greetings,

    Relaxing Sunday morning shave.

    The Haslinger Aloe Vera is a great performing nice mild fragranced shaving soap which my mature skin loves and creates an acceptable lather in a short space of time which doesn't dissipate or dry out on your face in between passes leaving a superb post shave feel.

    The stubby Omega boar 10051 is wonderful for face lathering.

    A comfortable 2 pass + pick-ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of sensitive aloe vera aftershave gel.

    My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

    Stay safe, and enjoy your Sunday ladies & gentlemen.:cool:
