I just found out. Very sad to hear. I have not posted much the last few years. I still lurk or did. A HUGE THANK YOU!!!! to everybody here. This was the friendliest forum I had ever been a member. Tom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Thanks Brian! I am doing fine. Had to change jobs a few years ago as the place I worked relocated to a different state. 200 employees let go. Back to running manual lathes and mills. No access to designing programs to make more razors. I am a minimalist shaver now. Tom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
It's a shame you aren't still reinventing the razor. You did some fine work, and I enjoyed some of the pass a rounds with your creations. I still have one of your original "The Brush B-400" Brushes, back in 2017. Your design was copied by others that profited from your hard work. And I never heard you complain. Thank you.
I got the pleasure out of thinking up the designs and then making them. That is all I was really after. If somebody copied my stuff I look at it as a compliment. I am a bit strange as I see money as a burden. I am only looking to what I need to get by. My wife does not adhere to that though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Yes, and no. One is run by a very whacky group, or person. The mere mention of a name(member here) will get you banned.
Huge bummer! I thought I was having a bad year, but this TSD closing is a huge blow! Thank You for 15 years!
This is sad to hear but glad you're moving forward! I joined in June 2015 as I started my DE journey. I had joined a different forum a few weeks prior but found it too busy, too many differing opinions and not as welcoming. TSD was where I learned so much....thank you for a wonderful site and good luck!
In the past when my wife has asked, “What am I supposed to do with all this shaving stuff if you die?” My answer has always been, “Donate it to TSD”. Guess I’m going to have to amend my last will and testament.
Against The Grain and The Shaving Room are both UK-based, but welcome everyone from around the world. Being able to communicate in English does help though. Both are friendly communities. I prefer ATG, but not by much. Shaving Universe is a very small forum, but it is worth being part of if you are into vintage razors.
