Hi Everyone. Sadly, this is the last month for this thread and therefore, my last intro. I always thought that I would hand over the reins to someone, but I never thought that I would be leaving this way. I started coming to this thread on Dec 21, 2018 and looking back, I can't believe the amount of knowledge and the friends that I made here. I am confident that the same can be said of all of you. Anyway, I accepted the position of "the grand poobah" in September of 2021 and made my first intro October 2021 with the approval of our first fearless leader Chris, known as Bama Samurai. May he rest in peace. I felt privileged to serve in this capacity as the longest captain at the helm of the 30 DC thread. As far as the monthly themes, we have DE December. Also, you can Do Whatever You Want December. Alas, this may be my shortest intro, but it will be my saddest one. Thank you all for staying with me during my tenure. Before the end of the year, I will post my email address if you want to keep in touch, whether it's about shaving, needing prayer or whatever. I hope you guys will land on another shaving forum where you can be comfortable and make new friends. In any event, let's go out with a bang!

My face is feeling smooth & smelling divine. Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.
Thanks for your time and effort Joe I have real enjoyed your thread and will miss it. As for the forum closing I know there was an offer made to take over the running of the shave den lock stock and barrel at no cost to the person or people who run it. Which I know was bluntly refused by the admin. Its sad and selfish in my opinion that this forum could keep running under a new admin for the many users who enjoy and have surported the shave den for many years. I quote (After much thought and discussion, Sparky and I have decided it is time to close TSD at the end of this year.) Is that it Admin???? ( I don't care if this is read by big brother I have been here since 2012 and now its dead!) Thank you to all the great members for the good times sad to see it ended like this. Regards to you all Paul
Today's shave was a 9/10 as I used dial 2 getting 1 cut reopened on moustache while achieving a full BBS shave. Today was Personna USA 100 pack from 2017, day 5topside/total. I do flip the blade over around 16 and count the flipped side amount with also a total overall. I used, as always, my H 2 or 1962 Gillette Adjustable slim handle shaver without the case. I shaved before the shower but I only used water on the blade/head of shaver to help with feel, so I did not cut myself however I still kept the blade/head of shaver wet as needed. I did not do a partial clean between shaves but did just the final full clean at the end including scraping the corners for the green crap on the inside of butterfly mechanism and adding vegetable oil to all the parts that move in the blade head area. If anybody wants to continue, I will be on The Shaving Room Website that feels very similar despite the different look to the posts without the parchment paper look and wording the way it, the rest of the layout looks about the same.
Truly sad that this entire Shave Den is shutting down. Over the past 5 + years I have learned more than I could have hoped for about this great rabbit hole of a hobby we participate in. I have met many interesting individuals with a variety of personalities and talents. Of course Joe, @Trigger, will keep the spirit of the 30 DC alive with our monthly breakfasts. Naturally, if any of you are in the Long Island area feel free to give either one of us a shout out so we may have the opportunity to meet up with you in person. Finally, a tip of the hat to Joe for being the guiding force behind our monthly theme for the past 3 + years.
DE Shave # 626 - DEcember Shave - Yaqi Telstar Rating: 5 / 5 Razor: Yaqi Telstar Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (2) Brush: Whipped Dog Butterscotch 24 mm Lather: Declaration Grooming Darkfall Aftershave: Declaration Grooming Darkfall Additional Care: Declaration Grooming Aftershave Liniment - Darkfall Declaration Grooming Darkfall EdT Omega Alum Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel This month’s focus, for the final month of the 30DC, will be DEcember. All 31 shaves of the month will feature DE razors from both of my dens. There will be some vintage razors as well as of the more modern razors. Additionally, I will feature two soaps that are perfect for the upcoming Christmas season for a majority of my shaves this month. The soaps are B & M Dickens Revisted and Ginger’s Gsrden Festivus. This morning’s shave featured a recently acquired razor head, the Yaqi Telstar. Not that I need another razor but I could not pass up the price, < $4.00. The razor performed extremely well for my customary three passes. Two passes would have sufficed. Hope you all are having a fabulous day.
