    Saturday 20 December 2025

    2 Days’ growth

    Same hardware and software

    Two minor differences

My Proraso preshave was sunk onThursday, to I used some American Crew shower gel as a prep: works fine.

Permasharp Day 6 still going strong, but needing more strokes per area, hence it is getting a bit tired and will be……..retired to the recycle bin.

Apart from there is little more to report.

Oh, except that I am finding it easier to get around the chin with longer strokes than usual. Likely due to benefit of sticking with this little razor for the whole of December.

It tries one’s patience sticking to one setup for a month, but I do think it has its benefits.

Have a great day one and all.

Terrific shave Chris! Years from now, you will be glad you did this focus because you will have made tremendous strides in technique because of it. Like the Christmas display.

Today's shave was a 10/10 as I used dial 3 then went to 4 and later 5 at was not enough so I kept going up. Yes, going up in dial helped as I got a nearly a BBS shave, the next level up. Today was Personna USA 100 pack from 2017, day 1 bottom side/15 total. I do flip the blade over around 14--16 and count the flipped side amount with also a total overall.

I do feel this blade is going to die sooner because I am skipping a day or sometimes more between the shaves.

I used, as always, my H 2 or 1962 Gillette Adjustable 1960's era shaver, my model without the case.

I shaved after the shower, so I did not use water on my face due to skipping a day. I did keep the blade/head of shaver wet. I did need to do 2 partial cleans in middle of the shave and did a final full clean at the end of the shave where part of this was in a shower to make it easy.

    Nice birthday shave, 37 now

Astute observation Casey. Heavier growth will dull a blade more quickly.

Two fabulous DE shaves the past two mornings. Friday’s shave featured my first DE razor purchased post collegiate days over 30 years ago. Today’s shave featured a birth year/first quarter vintage Gillette razor.

Each shave delivered an exceptionally smooth outcome. I did deviate for one day from my seasonal soaps for this month to go with the MWF as a tip of the hat to Joe, @Trigger, for his willingness to finally forgo not using the MWF because of his concerns about his hard water. Glad he finally has seen the light.

As a FUI, my season soap usage will cease on December 27 as I do not have any in the Southern Den.

Hope you all have had a fabulous day.

Wonderful shaves Joe. As far as MWF, I am glad that I able to experience it thanks to Chris B's generosity. @ChrisB

And in a about 30--40 days I could have a full on Amish beard with a Spanish Moustache.

    PS was my birthday shave.
