Bob, what's your take on the Connaught cream? I've been meaning to try it out and see if it's as good as I'm hearing, and you seem to be pretty heavy into the traditional, older non-reformulated stuff (D.R. Harris milk, Coates creams, etc.)

Jason,it's very similar to a JM Fraser or Florena type of cream, although I would say it's has a little more cushion.Paul's scents are absolutely amazing. I've been hoping he will add a vetiver cream to his line.

    Friday 1/29 . . .

    • [*]Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
[*]Brush: Ever Ready 300 refurbished with silvertip badger knot by The Knotty Badger
      [*]Cream: TSD Bamboo & Teak
      [*]Razor: GEM Featherweight
[*]Blade: Ted Pella PTFE coated SE (shave 1)
[*]Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil
[*]A/S: Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel Toner & Nivea Extra Soothing ASB
      [*]EDT: TSD Bamboo & Teak

[*]Result: Pretty good shave. Not BBS but almost. Had to be careful with the razor and blade today because of the nicks from yesterday. No blood cause I was very, very careful today. Enjoy the scent of the TSD Bamboo & Teak. So does the wife.

    Saturday:

    Omega Silvertip
    Weishi Chrome/Super Max day 3
    TGQ Mandarin Martini S/S
    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer
    Musgo Real Classic A/S
    Quorum EDT

I was very lucky this time, because the Weishi is so gentle. I got a little careless, but I still escaped with no cuts, or even any weepers. All I got was a nice shave! ;) :D

A quick two-pass, but very smooth shave before going to watch my son's hockey game Friday evening.

  14. After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

    Shavemac 22mm silvertip
    Brevete/7 0'clock SharpEdge
    MWF
    Lucky Tiger AS
The Gentlemen's Quarter 'Leatherneck' EdT (sigh......down to my last few squirts).

Man......this razor shaves me extremely close........ as good as the opens combs for sure. Heh, I do have to go a little slower using it, since the margin for error is pretty slim. Unlike when using my fatboy, I'm very aware of the sharp blade on my face, and the comfort level isn't quite the same either. However, the shave I get from this little thing, plus the idea of even using something so strange looking, are two compelling reasons to make this an excellent change of pace razor.

Man.........I'm hoping Colleen is gonna be marketing her EdTs soon. I've been nursing the tiny amount she'd sent me months ago.....the little tease......heh. I like this fragrance more than almost any others I've tried, and that includes many 'niche' or other high end types. Heh, not surprisingly, I also really enjoy her shaving soap by the same name.

A very fun shave today.........whew, my face is amazingly smooth.

Saturday: Lord Smart razor / Sharp Stainles blade d1 / Boreal 322 boar brush / Erasmic SS / Florida Water Cologne / Wesley & Scott's Lime Balm

Went low cost today and got a DFS. Also, finally got the Erasmic SS to lather properly and it worked well. I see now why people like it.

    Good Saturday to all.

Gillette Tech w/Red Personna (1st day)
    Edwin Jagger BBB
    Poraso (red)
    Florida Water
    ARKO After Shave cream
    GFT Wild Fern cologne (sample)

First time with the Tech, first time with the Personna...seemed very sharp compared with the 7 O'clock yellows I have been using in my other razors. The Poraso provided me with copious lather that I used for three passes. I enjoy shaving on Saturday and Sunday when I can really be leisurely and enjoy the process.
