    Wow, that is awesome! What are some of the distinctions of the coronation set to the regular set other than the crown on the outside of the box? I don't think the regular cases have the plastic think over the the top lining, is that correct?

    My President and Diplomat cases both have the plastic liner in the lid.

    Same here. I was meaning the regular #66 case.

    I see. No #66 in the house as of yet, , so I would not know about that....

    The Coronation Set´s comes in 1953, so it must be Patent Pending. 1955 comes Pat. 694.093

    That's a good question Scotty and I really don't know the answer... but my guess is these were sold for a brief time and possibly to introduce a new line of luxury razors by Gillette.
    The plastic lining in this set is only temporary.. very thin and only in place for purposes of packaging I suppose... nothing the like the hard plastic lining for the Diplomat.
    Achim is correct (usually is!)... this set is from 1953 and has Patent Pending inside the head.
    I'm going to post pictures for my #58 Coronation Set now..
    Chris (MTGrayling) is either gonna love me or hate me shortly.
