Late Wednesday shave due to plumbing issues. Blargh

    Razor: '49 SS
Blade Schick Plus Platinum day 5
    Brush: VDH green handle
    Soap: Williams
    A/S: AV

Good shave. Better than I expected after the struggles to get the sink repaired first.

    Wednesday 3/4 . . .

    • [*]Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel
[*]Brush: The "Ever Roddy", an Ever Ready 300 refurbished with silvertip badger by The Knotty Badger
      [*]Cream: SCS Very V
      [*]Razor: '41 Gillette Ranger Tech
      [*]Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge (shave 14)
[*]Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil
[*]A/S: Thayer's Lavender Witch Hazel Toner & Clubman Club Complete ASB
      [*]EDT: SCS Very V EDT

[*]Result: This shave, #14 for this blade was as good as the second one. BBS with no nicks, cuts or weepers. Very V carries a great scent through the entire shave and after with the EDT. Also made for a smooth slick shave.

    Rick,

Only a true blooded Steeler fan would shave using a video camera and monitor for a mirror. But then there is the instant replay you can use to see how your technique is coming along. And if you get a nick or weeper you can see if it was your technique or the razor that caused the damage.

    :happy097

As an self-annointed replay official I need to penalize you for your flagrant use of Nivea canned goo instead of real shave cream or soap and also the cartridge razor instead of a DE, SE or Straight.

10 shaves! truthfully though last night i had to do about 1 minute of honing and mild stropping, but today it felt like new. if anyone says "thats a lot of work" youre full of it. you sometimes have to do more to maintain a straight razor.

Musgo gave a 3rd pass irritation which isnt normal but day 4 of the feather might have been to blame. These feather just dont last that long:(

Am I imagining it, or am I really feeling a small menthol tingle from the Musgo cream when I use it?

Have you seen Squire's review and blow-up pic of the Feather edge over at SMF? He said the way they're honed doesn't allow for more than a couple of shaves before the blade is done.

    Parker 22R V1/new 7 AM
    Tryphon Clorofilla shaving stick
    Arko Aqua A/S gel
    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer

The 7 AM's are fantastic blades because they're very smooth and sharp, but they're also more forgiving than I first thought.

    Thursday

    Omega boar (10075)
    Arko soap
    Red tip Super Speed
    Crystal blade
    Aqua Velva aftershave

I'm not a big fan of the fragrance of Arko soap, but I like how well it lathers. With this cold I've had for a week, I can't smell a thing. So I think I'll use Arko until my sense of smell returns.
