Gonna post a little early in case I lose my phone line. Lotta wet, heavy snow here in the Upcountry tonight, and I have a tree that is taking aim at my phone line! So post up those hauls, folks! Pics as always are appreciated!
Mercifully, the one from the pole to the house is buried. And a couple of years past they have done a lot of tree trimming near the power lines. But the phone line to the house is still above ground and runs right through a medium-sized ornamental tree that is HEAVY LADEN with wet snow as I write this. I went out with a long pole and knocked some off earlier, but I couldn't reach the very top. My latest haul might be a courtesy call from Ma Bell.
Got me some good ones from scottydoint Schick Krona Super speed Slim Tech I haven't realized that the Merkur Futur I use was such a big razor really. Can't wait to test them!
I have the super speed and the tech, The super speed is one the the best that I own. The tech I could probably shave with in my sleep but is still an excellent shaver.
I picked up the 54 TV SS on Ebay some time ago.. one of my more lucrative purchases somewhere in the neighborhood of $50 - 60. MTGrayling scored one someone around the same time in a huge lot of razors... I was soooo tempted to snag that one too but relented as my RAD was beginning to fade. Chris.. do you still have the picture from the Ebay lot?
$50-$60? You need to dig around better, my brother! Hopefully, the "discoloration" will polish out. I have had pretty good luck resurrecting some heinous looking razors. Anyway, here's my new arrivals for today: A British made somthin', somethin' with a New Improved type head in a cool Bakelite case: And... Drum roll, please... The highly-elusive Double Ring!
Did you notice his is NOS? Nice British NEW! I love the heads on those, great shave. Nice! Congratulations!
And I would know that because.......? Sealed blade packs don't mean squat. This set has sealed blades and an unused brush, but the razor had definitely been used.
Hmm. The '58 I grabbed was only $35.95 + shipping. Probably because the listing didn't mention that it was a TV special. The final price still shows that a few people knew what was there.
$60 was a steal for the 54' TV special. They aren't common at all and I have seen minty sets go for $200. The 58' aren't even close to as uncommon.
Pray tell! Is that a lot you won? Is it your collection? A dealer display were you got the 195? I got a refirb DVD recorder to replace a dead VCR. Pany EZ17K. Amazon listed it as be able to play DVD-Audio, but it don't. S'ok, at the price I would have gotten it anyway. Recorded my first show tonight will watch it tomorrow. It's nice to watch DTV w/o a converter box.
