Bay rums

I have Master bay rum. Very nice aftershave. So now I'm thinking of trying another bay rum. I've read good reviews of Dominica. Any others I should put on the list?

 

I use the Pinaud Virgin Island Bay Rum.. it is a stout AS though not for the faint of heart.

 

Dominica is great and check out the Royall Bay Rhum (shop the price on the Royall). To me, these have a less of a cinnamon/nutmeg/baking product scent than some of the others I've tried.

I would suggest TSD Bay Rum(which I believe is made for TSD by Ogagalla?) and the TSD signature scent is a mellowed down version blended with Bergamot. I personally dont like a strong BR scent. St,Johns is very nice but expensive as hell.

 

I have tried the Masters bay rum and the Royal Bay rum and I personaly preferr the Royal version. Clevaland probably has some Brooks Brothers clothing stores in town. My advice is to get yourself down to a Brooks Brothers if you have one in Clevland and buy some Royal Bay Rum if and when you can. You will not have to pay shipping this way - but of course you have transportation costs when you do it this way so you will need to see which is the most economical way to obtain the after shave.

 

I use and love Royall Bay Rhum.

 

C. O. Bigelow Bay Rum - doesn't smell like any of the others, but it is my favorite. It is much more complex, but the upside to that is that it lasts longer. You can get it in an aftershave balm, or in the cologne. You can get it at a Bigelow store, if you have one, or they usually carry it at Bath and Body Works.

Taylor of Old Bond Street also has a nice Bay Rum. I do like the Masters version, though, and the fact that it is so cheap is a very nice point. I am not a big fan of the Pinaud Clubman version - burned way too much, and the other scents in it were too distracting to me.

 

We have a Brooks Brothers downtown near where I work. Didn't realize they sell Royall Bay Rum there. Will have to check it out. Always nice to buy locally when possible.

I understand what you mean about buying local, but BB charges a premium for the Royall products. After you check them out, I'm sure you can find it on-line for 30%-50% less. Your decision of course.

captain morgans private stock mixed with #9 light kerosene made 3/15/1913 is also pretty nice.

 

I have Burt's Bees Bay Rum cologne, and a/shave balm, and Pinaud Bay Rum, which I love also. Both of these scents are beautiful in their own different way, and last long for me.

 

SCS Bay Rum w/ a twist is nice if you like a little citrus which I do.

 

Dominica, love love love the stuff. Tried a few of the others col conk A/S, C. O. Bigelow Bay Rum Cologne, Pinuad A/S. The Bigelow was preity good, but dominica hits the spot for me will always be in my den.

 

Dominica's good, but for my money it's Pinaud or Ogallala.

 

I never tried the Dominica--is it a strong scent?

 

Walgreen's web site says they carry Clubman. I'm bored enough to go to my local store and see for myself.
