Thursday... Razor: '60 Fatboy @5 Blade: '60 Super Blue from NOS day 3 Soap: Williams A/S: Old Spice Those Platinum-Plus blades have spoiled me for sure. The Super Blue is still a good blade, but it can't match the Platinums. Longevity isn't one of it's strong suits (even the ads make that point), so I'm retiring this one.

Thursday 3/12 Penchetta Penworks Silvertip Arko SC 6/8 Wostenholm Celebrated IXL NDC Fat Handle Tech Gillette 7 O'Clock Black Thayer's Alcohol Free Original Ogallala Special Reserve splash Result: I attempted an XTG 2nd pass with the straight today. Mistake. Shave went well, until the AS splash - FIRE!!! A burn like like I had taken a blow torch to my face! But, it healed up and now I'm fine...
I've never had a burn like that before from that or any other Ogallala splash....I think it was the attempted XTG pass with the straight....I put way too much pressure....
I see. The Ogallala smelled very nice but sent my face into the gates of hell for a quick second when I applied it. I think the clove oil does the burning on me. Normally which a good shave.....even the high alcohol splashes have close to 0 burn. You will master it that straight though! People say there is an extended learning curve I just figured I'd wait till I had medical coverage before I attempt the straight again:happy102
Yeah, you might want to do that. I figure if I keep with the high alcohol splashes, I'll learn proper technique with the straight even faster! :happy102
