Yay! The grab bag/box was waiting at my door when I got home.

I am glad you got the Weishi Gunmetal Finish, how does it look? Also, you got a nice brush there, let us know how it handles.

You sure did add a lot of stuff . I like the wooden brush there...

And those razors.. wow... they look nice.

I think we should do a reversal once it reaches the final person... What do you guys think? JEJEJJEE?

Seeing that Dark asked about my thoughts on the Weishi and the brush, I figured I would share that and a little more...

My daughter took great interest in the box. I warned her in advance that I would have the grab/box when we got home so that she wouldn't be dissapointed to see a package and it not be for her. Now, I just kept going and talked about the fact that the box was bouncing around the country and there would be a whole bunch of shaving stuff in it from different people I know online and explained the concept of the grab bag to her. Once we got home, she insisted on helping me open it and took great interest in all the stuff in the box. She has never cared about my shaving purchases before. But I guess I talked up the grab box enough to pique her interest. Anyway, she smelled the oatmeal and honey bath soap as quick as she could and gave me that look that told me I was going to have to let her have the soap or deal with a very disappointed daughter. :happy102 She also got a kick out of seeing all the TTO razors work. Again, she could have seen all of that before.

The Weishi: the gunmetal looks much better in person than it does online. So I was already leaning that way and she gave her opinion, so that is what I picked. Who knows.. maybe someday, it will be her starter razor! I knew these were a copy/knock off from the Gillette Superspeed; however, I just didn't think the head would look that similar. The gunmetal finish is awesome and I like the feel. It will get a test run next week!

The Brush: Dark, do you know what company/brand made that brush? I picked the brush because I loved the handle. I don't have any medium badger brushes and it was a shorter brush (which I have been looking for), so I chose that brush. I have given it a few practice lathers, and it is taking a little longer to make lather than my other brushes, but when it gets there, it does a great job. Currently, it is losing hairs, but that will hopefully taper off as it breaks in.

This was fun and I will be anxious to see who grabs the stuff I put in and what all comes and goes during the next several months of the box's journey.

 

Awesome adds, cant wait to see the goodies and add some more.

Is it still fitting in a medium flat rate priority box? If so, are we in any danger of running out of room?

 

It still fits in the medium rate box. There isn't a great deal of room. But it still fits.

Once the box reaches the last name on the list, I'd like to randomize the names on the list for the next pass around. Is there anyone opposed to this?

 

I don't know if this box can be shipped here in Canada, but I don't know what to do if it was. It would be very difficult for me to choose stuff from it, and I would put back in enough stuff that a 2nd box would be needed! :happy102

 

Makes sense to me. However, you might have to take care to see that the people who are at the bottom of the list right now aren't at the top in the next round. It might be too soon for them to have collected enough stuff to add in.

 

This was my thought as well.. Also the people who have been waiting for 3 months might not be so thrilled to suddenly have another 2-3 months of waiting.

Just having had the box, I don't think I am ready to get it back so suddenly. On the other hand, changing the order a little will be nice.

I also wondered if it would be possible to map out the order so that the box just made a big loop around the country? It might move a little faster than going from CA to IN and back to CA...

 

BD, what could be done is to divide the list into three sections (1-4, 5-8, 9-13), and to randomize the order within each section. That way people don't come after the same person on the list every time, but there won't be any major changes overall.

 

randomizing the current names order doesn't bother me personally, but I've had the box three times already (I think)

one suggestion I have is that people who are newly added to the list be placed on the list directly above whoever currently has the box. That way they are effectively coming in at the end of the line

I completely agree to this as well. Makes perfect sense!

Only objection I have to the randomizing is that if I get put on the bottom of the list after the randomizing then it may take another 6 months for me to get the box. I have been waiting for awhile to get the box back..

 

I also agree with Lee's suggestion.

And yes, I think it would be a shame for people who've already waited for so long to have to wait another several months because of the randomizing.

Still, it makes a lot of sense for there to be some changes in the order.

 

I was thinking about the randomize option and doesn't sound bad, but it took a lot for it to go to me. Uhhmm...

How about we find similar states and put them all together, so it goes for example: California and Arizona, It will take less time in travel.

We can work out something right? Regarding the Canada, maybe someone should start something like that for Canada Only... It is much easier to be in one country than having 1 box going from country to contry.

Etoyoc: I guess I need to take better pictures of Weishi Chrome.... I was using my phone so it was bad to begin with.

WA WA WEEE WAAA!! the box has landed back in cali!! Havent opened it up yet as time hasnt allowed it yet. Maybe later tonight or tommorow and It should be on its way out by friday.
