Here is my idea for the thinning of the box. Two PIF's which seem to be fairly complete for a beginner PIF: #1 RNB A/S Salve Clubman Styptic Pencil VDH Boar In Green VDH Soap Puck In Pink Wally World Personna Blade Pack Dorco 300 Pack Ogallala Sandalwood Bay Rum Gillette Gold Ball End Tech From Our Personal Collection #2 RNB A/S Salve Clubman Styptic Pencil VDH Boar In White VDH Soap Puck In White Wally World Personna Blade Pack Dorco 300 Pack Ogallala Limes & Peppercorns Bay Rum Gillette Gold Ball End Tech From Our Razor yard Sale, Razor #1 We will keep the Gillette Gold ball End Tech that came in the box since it is suffering from heavy plate loss. This way, both PIF's have an equally aged razor.... Suggesting that we trash the Gillotte Shave Brush. The pictures actually make it look better that what it is, but, we can leave it in if there is a desire. Suggesting trash the green shave cream egg Suggesting trash the British Sterling Deodorant Stick because it looks used.... Now on the GEM Push Button; it could be fixed, but I don't know how to do it. The issue may be bad spring tension. The GEM 1912 is beat up and tarnished and bent a little, but it can probably be salvaged. The box now seals up nicely, without bulging, in a medium flat rate box. The box includes everything that was in the box, taken out of the box and added to the box as posted earlier. I need a consensus on the box as it sits ready to ship; and for the PIF's and the trash items.
Don't toss the brush - it looks like a good handle donor for a knot replacement. I will grab it. I think that the push button may be the contour that I put in on the last rotation. I don't think it was that bad off at the start. Send the GEM's as well and I will take a look at them. If I can't fix them, I will keep them for parts. Toss the other stuff as mentioned and go for PIFS.
The box has landed. Wow.. I just tugged a little on the knot and it fell right out of that old brush... The 1912 Gem is bent, but it is bending back fairly well. It still looks bad. We'll see what I have spares of. The contour is the one I put in, so I will take it back out and put a G-Bar in instead. Will sort through thoroughly tomorrow when I have time. Right now it is too late to do anything with it other than make a quick looksie. Planning on putting at least some L'Occitane Cade and Istitut Karite, a travel Weishi and some things that I got from the box the last rotation in at the very least. However, I will have to see how everything fits and what all I am taking out... Oh, the iced subzero is staying here. Oh, I will have to make sure i add in at least one ball end tech. Anyone interested in trying out an Old style as well?
Cool! Can't wait to get it. I plan on snagging a ball-end Tech. I'm putting in some Lervia Soap, a Gem Micromatic, a Push Button Gem, some Pella blades (4), amd maybe some other blades.
OK... it is boxed. I won't be able to get to the P.O. in time to get to today's mail. However, I will slap a label on it and get it out in Monday's mail. As usual, the box is VERY full. I had to scale back on what I was putting in because there just wasn't any room. Here is what I removed: 2 bad SE razors (the 1912 can be straightened - but it still in bad shape) 1 brush (knot has been thrown out and handle may be usable for future project) 1 broken container of tea tree peppermint soap. Actually, broken or not - I may have grabbed this Balsa CrO2 - getting dents in it from shipping. I don't know how many more stops it can make and I can actually use it. 2 packs of Personna blades (I can pop them out and load them in my Schick Repeater without messing with loading them into another injector blade holder) Ogallala unscented (I think I added this to the box two rotations ago) Pirate Cove Lime sample Old Spice Lime after shave C.O. Bigelow shave cream (can't get this anymore here) small Arko Aqua cream TSD Iced Subzero This is what I added: L'Occitane Cade Shaving Soap (had been grated down to go into a mug. I regrated it to get it out - so it is not a rock solid puck) Institut Karite shave soap P160 Tipo Morbido sample Body SHop Maca Root Razor Relief Fjellheim Aftershave cream 1 pack ASR SE blades Weishi Travel (I took this out of the last box rotation) 2 ball end techs (both work well, one looks much better than the other) 1 Old style razor (handle has usual crack) 1 Gem G-bar (one of my favorite gems) I was going to add more - but there just isn't room. Pictures have been taken - but I don't have time to upload them yet (we are getting ready to go out as a family). I will get those up this weekend.
Sweet! It is good to see that some of the stuff we put in is going to good use. That Tea Tree Soap must have gotten busted between Florida and Indiana though; it was in one piece when I packed it back in the box... Now for the two PIF's that I pulled out; should I run a contest, or offer them up in the Newbie give away?
The pictures I took looked fine on the camera; however, when I put the card into my computer I found that they were extremely dark and grainy. Most of the pictures were not usable at all. But, here is what was salvaged. I would re-shoot; however I already packed the box up. First, this is what I added: Here are the razors that are now in the box. SE/DE razors need blades - so here they are. Soaps: Creams, after shaves (splash, cream, balm, milk, etc...), cologne: The Old Spice Lime is shown in the picture above. However, when putting it away I decided to grab it.

I was talking to my wife on the phone, and the box has arrived at my house! I am hoping to go through the box ASAP, and have it moved on to the next in line over the weekend, and certainly no later than Tuesday!
That Toms of Maine shave cream in Justin's picture is something I would like to try; they just donated $20k to animal shelters and Bluffton,SC won one of the grants. Nice folks and I intend on giving them some of my business just because.
The box is on it's way to wolfmanxiii. I hope to get on later this evening and post pics of what I put in the box and what I took out of the box.
