Patted dry with a towel before applying A/S. Works for me!

I have been told that if your skin is wet when you apply the after shave it tends to dilute more. I agree.

All, IYO, would you say that diluting is good, as in it helps spread a smaller amount of AS, or bad, in that it dilutes the AS to a point where it does not work as well?

    Thanks,

    Moe

I avoid any aftersahve right after a shave as my pores as still to open and it can irritate my skin very easily

I pat off with a towel right before applying splash. Dry works, but it's more convienent to leave my face and head damp.

patted dry works the best for me. In fact I usually do two applications of aftershave to make sure i didnt miss any parts :p

For me, I prefer to not dilute my A/S. Since aftershaves with alcohol content tend to work better for me (disinfecting, etc.) I have found they work best when used at full strength.

I suppose at some point I'll end up trying 91% pure Isopropyl Alcohol, for the ultimate burn! ;)

sol92258 I have no earthly idea

I've grown fond of patting my face somewhat dry, leaving ever-so-slightly damp, then I'll run my hand under some water, lightly shake it off, pour AS in and apply. It does slightly dilute the scent, but it certainly helps spread the AS more easily over my face.

I don't always do this, but like I said, it's a technique I'm trying lately

    "I air dry".....................(Duder ?)

while I am cleaning up my brush, razor and sink area (usually takes a minute or so) and then apply the splash.
    So, I'll say

    "Damp"

Ya, I do damp after a CWR. Tried dry a few times this week, didn't find it as refreshing, esp. w/ mentholated splashes.

I dont like my face too wet. Almost dry. My hands are a little bit wet and spread that wet around when I go to the face.
Moisturizer is different. I wet the face, not dripping, and the hands then a pinch of stuff gets the whole face done.

THAT IS THE WAY TO MOISTURIZE!

Wet skin! Less product used, easier spread, better results.

Moisturizer on dry skin does very little but provide temporary relief - once it's washed off you're essentially back to where you were, as it's primarily water that the skin absorbs.

I recall having exceedingly dry hands a few yrs ago. Night after night I'd put a heavy body butter on them then don talc-less latex gloves and go to bed.

Next morning, I'd wash the moisturizer off and what? - still dry.

Finally I added the moisturizer atop wet hands, put on the gloves, went to sleep, and woke up with baby-smooth hands :D:D:D

For me it really depends on the splash in question. I love Pinaud Clubman, Clubman Bay Rum, and Polo aftershaves, but straight up the scent of these is a little too intense for my body chemistry and they become cloying quickly. Oddly enought Old Spice, Aqua Velva Ice Sport (or regular AV for that matter), Master Bay Rum, and other "milder" scents I can use with almost reckless abandon on a dry face with no problems.

Rinse the old face and pat dry. Clean up razor, brush, etc. and then apply the aftershave. Wonderful for me.

Cold water rinse, pat dry, apply witch hazel and let that dry while I clean up. Then the A/S after that, cause thats how I roll!
