I seem to be on this shave stick AD....

What I have, or have on order:
    • Erasmic
    • Speick
    • Lea
    • Bea
    • Arko
    • Irisch Moos
    • Palmolive
    • Gibbs (vintage)
What I plan to order shortly:
    • La Toja
    • Valobra

So, the question is....what am I missing? Harris...what else?

I have a Palmolive Stick on the way...dumb question how do you use a stick. Load the brush and then face lather?

    Mama Bear
    Boots
Likely more, but those are the ones that are obvious to me.

You can do it that way, but most guys rub the stick on the face then face lather. I really don't find one way better than the other, but to each his own.

I rub it all over my beard, covering every spot, then work into a lather with the brush...

Some people wet the end to let it soften up some first, usually while the brush is soaking. I've found that I don't need to do that....YKHTG

That's how I do it. I wet the stick between passes. It helps but you be the judge.

    Definitely add a Harris stick.

You don't need Harris! You already have the best of the best.

    You're missing Tabac too...

Have you ever used it? It's one of the best triple milled soaps available on the market.

    Which one's your favorite, Matt?

Definitely the Tabac stick too but I know you don't care for the scent. But if you just want to have a "collection" of shave sticks...;) it's a good 'un.

Right now I'm going to say for scent and lather: Speick. For just lather, probably the vintage...
I don't not like the scent of Tabac....I just prefer the scent of Irisch Moos and since the it seems common acceptance that the two are the same except for the scent, I figure I'm OK there for now.....

I've Almond and Lavender, both new and vintage (15-20+ yrs).

Are they good? Yes, but pricey and not worth that price.

Been dabbling in sticks lately and really have started enjoying them. I really....I mean really digging the Arko. Its softer than say Palmolive and Erasmic so really is easier to rub on face. I do dip the palm/erasmic in hot water before i hit the face but the softness of the Arko is nice and that lather just explodes! Yeah I love me some Arko! Cheap and it kicks ass! I have never had to reapply the stick between passes. I must apply enough initially for 3 solid passes.

I think if I start going down that road..... Probably a ton of glycerine sticks...
Didn't know Wilkinson had a stick....maybe I'll check it out...
Well hurry up and send me mine, then! I've been having some difficulty with the Erasmic - maybe I need to wet it first....I haven't had to wet the Palmolive, Irisch Moos, Speick, or the vintage Gibbs....

Erasmic worked great for me; however, my face was dripping wet before I starting trying to rub it in..

Yeah, my face is dripping wet, too. It's weird, sometimes I get a phenomenal lather from it, and sometimes I can't figure out what's wrong.... it acts like it's dry, but when I dip my brush in some water and work it around more, it just gets that foamy lather instead of moist creamy lather....

    sometimes.

EDIT: It's the one my folks brought back from England for me. I just checked the box and it's the new formula. Which are you using, new or old? I've got 2 old from Bong, maybe I'll try one of them....
