WHAT?! The bowl version is a decent product but has a outrageously nice scent! Bowl-version Hand SS is very good - is the stick the same? (That soap smells amazing too). ... And to think - before I got on these wetshaving boards, I used Cherry-Candy bodywash and thought it smelled good! So many people are missing out on the real scents out there!
Hi Matt, I was in Amsterdam for three days last week and while there I purchased a Dutch shave stick called De Vergulde Hand (DVH). It is very inexpensive and is sold in drug stores all over Amsterdam (and, I assume, the Netherlands in general). At €1.85 (about US$2.60) it was worth picking up. I have not tried it yet but am looking forward to it. I do not know where you would order it in the States but you might want to Google it to get more information. Good luck.
The De Vergulde Hand stick is fantastic indeed--same lather, scent, and wonderful skincare as the bowl version.

Hi Teiste, I have not tried it, yet. I am saving everything I have purchased until I get home to San Diego. (I am still in Dunfermline, Scotland and will stop off in New Jersey to visit my family before going home.) If I knew how to download pictures to the site I would take some and show them. You would then see what serious AD's overtook me here. The folks on this site would be falling about and laughing at how badly I have given in to temptation. I have no idea when I will get to the DVH. I have been sort of promising myself that the La Toja shave stick would be my first new shave soap, stick, or cream to try. However, I saw a couple of Crackstar's recommendations for the DVH stick and now I think that it will move up to right behind the La Toja. I'll let you know as soon as I try it. If you get to it before I, how about a review?
