After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep: Shavemac 22mm silvertip fatboy/Bic Platinum MWF Lucky Tiger AS Penhaligons 'Love Potion #9' EdT Very nice shave this morning...second time using the (new to me) Bic. It's sharp, yet forgiving, and I can see why some members like this blade. It doesn't cut quite as easily as Iridiums or SharpEdge blades, but that's just me. These are definitely worth a look, and would probably be excellent for many members. Anyway, BBS results, Martin
Merkur Slant Iridium Super (7) Rooney 3, 1 Super Mama Bear's Tuscan Memories Speick Aftershave Splash Number 7 shave on the Iridium and still no real signs of wear. I say real because it might be showing it's age a little bit, but it isn't like a lot of blades that start pulling, or dont' cut well. This one still feels comfortable, but might not be shaving quite as close, but not by much.

Friday 5/22 . . . [*]Prep: Rite Aid Skin Cleansing Cream & Hot Towel [*]Brush: The "Ever Roddy 300" an Ever Ready 300 refurbished with silvertip badger knot by "The Knotty Badger" [*]Cream: SCS Oakmoss & Lavendula [*]Razor: '58 Gillette Executive [*]Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock ShapeEdge (shave 5) [*]Oil Pass: Leisureguy's Last-Pass Shave Oil [*]A/S: Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner & Nivea Extra Soothing ASB [*]EDT: SCS Oakmoss & Lavendula EDT [*]Result: Been a long, long time since I used the gold Fat Boy. Last time I was a bloody mess. Figured that it was caused by bad technique. For the most part it was. Today only two nicks around my chin. Bad enough to require some toilet paper. The adjustables just seem to be bad news for me. But the SCS products were a great consolation for the blood today. St. Sue makes some of the best.
Viernes // 22/05/09 Pre Hot Shower Proraso Pre/Post Shave Bic Disposable Omega Blue 1077 Williams Shaving Soap Post WH Skin Bracer Green Vas. Moisture Lock Result: First time using the Williams today. I also used a the Omega boar brush for the first time in months. I am absolutely loving the bic disposable, and the Williams soap was incredible! I bought it yesterday for one dollar! On the other hand, the WH is god awful. I cannot stand the smell of it. Skin bracer is very good for the money, and the moisture lock finished nicely. A great shave today. Now if only I could get my Merkur to feel like the disposables.... hmmm....

Razor: 1979 Gillette Super Adjustable @ 7 Blade: Feather (4) S/C: Connaughts English Lavender Brush: Tweezerman A/S: Raw Vanilla The Feather is reaching the end of its life, so it will be retired now and replaced with a new one. The Connaughts is a sample I set aside after getting MWF early in April. It's a nice cream but it was a slight pain getting a good lather going with it. The effort was worth it, as the resulting lather had nice lubricating qualities, and I really love the scent. I think I'll have to invest in a Lavender scented shave soap in the near future.
