I take it this is normal around here?

I have only been using a safety razor just over a month.

I have already bought

3 shave soaps all different makes
2 shave creams
2 razors (one really expensive but it looked cool)
4 different types of blades
2 pre shave products
1 super badger brush

yesterday ordered
AS and ASB it has not even arrived and was thinking of ordering something else just by reading this site.

This new hoby/grooming reigeme is costing me a fortune! and this site isnt helping

 

Great start! Watch it or you will soon have an inventory that could shave the navy for years to come.

yeah.... its pretty normal. Aquisition Disorders have a tendency to hit hard around here.

 

I haven't even bothered with a medicine cabinet in the show and tell b/c i am getting stuff almost every day for sure every week.

 

Actually, I think you are a little bit behind. A cpl more shave soaps and 3 shave mugs would help get you there though

Pretty normal. If you're concerned or on a budget look into samples from here or other sources (both free and paid). It's a great way to find out what you like and be a bit adventurous without acquiring an absurd amount of stuff.

 

That sounds par for the course, but you definitely need another brush or two.

 

I started out that way but have managed to cool the acquisition disorder in the past year. For the remainder of 2009 I am not projecting that I will order anything, I have what I need. ok, perhaps another tube of Kiss My Face later on.

Yes, it's normal (for here). So far it doesn't look to bad for you. BUT when you wake up in the morning and the first thing you do is feel your stubble, then you know it's gone way to far.

 

Rest assured you are as normal as any of us here, which is to say not very. Looks like you need more razors.

I think you are ok. Sure some ADs will hit you early on but you will eventually sort through and find which ones you prefer.

The other day someone was complaining about working a long day. I started thinking, the good thing about long days is that you get to shave twice. The bad thing about long days is you only get to shave twice.

 

You need just ONE more ... (brush, soap, cream, razor, ASB, etc, etc)

You'll go nuts for a while then hopefully settle down.

Those who go vintage in hopes of saving money are certainly not members of these boards
