Parker Razor

Where can I buy Parker Razors locally in India? I have tried searching on the internet many times but haven't been able to find any info.

I did PM you the link to Deepak Grover on Alibaba.com I tried to call him to ship me some of his popular razor to Mumbai. He declined. On my trips to North India I somehow found a local make for the India market. Cheap and very light quality - nothing to write home about.

If you do manage to convince him to sell you a 91R, do let me know - am interested as well.

Edit : You can see the local Parker I bought on the extreme right in the shaveden link below. It is available in an international finish too but as stated earlier, he does not sell them in India.

 

Thanks for the link. In fact, I had found this link earlier and contacted him through the website but there was no reply from him. I have mailed him once again and waiting for his response. I will probably call on the numbers provided on the page.

I don't understand why he refused to ship the product to you. Does he fear that someone else in India might start making razors using his designs and then export them? Isn't he happy to find that there does exist a domestic market for his products?

Seems like you have really nice collection of razors. Any other good razors which maybe available in India?

 

Seriously none to match up the international brands. A feather TTO is available for around 250 bucks most places. I have a source for the Omega boar and feather blades in Mumbai.

Edit : the Parker in my collection, I got from a medical shop in Lucknow. The head is pretty useless and I use a Gillette 7 O'clock Sterling on it

 

I called up Deepak Enterprises today and they agreed to sell me a Parker provided that I was willing to come down to their office. They were reluctant to courier it because they have had problems in the past with mail orders.

Problem is that their office is quite far away from where I live so I need to find time to visit them.

 

I will be getting a Parker Razor in a few days and I need help in choosing the right razor. I am not really a fan of TTO razors so my options boil down to the Parker 71r, 89r and the 91r.

Considering that all of them have identical heads, which one of these would be the best choice and why?

 

It seems that the R91 is the most preferred among all shave forums and amazon. Its almost compared to a Merkur HD. However do put in a blade and check the blade alignment as the most common complaint seems to be the head quality !!

 

Also don't overtighten it - because if you do, you risk the head flexing and one (or both) silo doors pinging off across the room.

 

I think you are referring to the R22 TTO, the R91 is a 3 piece razor.
