Never shaved drunk but I have shaved in the dark. Also have shaved with a stake knife, darn thing kept vibrating.

The worst cut I ever gave myself was after a long and vinious luncheon.
Wine and straight razors don't mix.

  3. No, I haven't tried it.
I shave in the mornings, and luckily I've never been drunk to start the day off...........hung-over, yes, but not drunk.
When hung over, I tend to use the electric razor, since I want to shower and then get some food and coffee down before shaving.

I've been known to have a drink or two with my shave. I shave in the afternoons, generally, so a relaxing cocktail goes well with a relaxing shower and shave. As long as you're not stumbling drunk you should be fine. Nothing wrong with a drink and shave IMO.

I think the Key is that it is one drink. Depending on body size and chemistry two or in a few cases even three might be fine, but clearly not at a drunken level. The OP seemed to indicate a drunk shave, which is a terrible idea. I've had a beer or cognac while shaving and would even shave on my second drink, but not more than two. Just not worth the risk. Also not something to try if you don't know how your body handles alcohol.

If you are going to shave drunk, it is important to use the right tools. This little baby will take out all the worry by doing the calculations your cloudy brain can no longer do!

Yep I did it once. I had straight razor withdrawl one day, had one out for sharpening and the other on order and got a mean case of straight razor withdrawl. Went down to the kitchen and got a stake knife and did the job with that. Darn thing was weighted wrong and kept vibrating. Learned this - there is a reason why there are special razors for shaving. The straight has been specifically weighted so that it does not vibrate. The straight razor has its weight evenly distributed throughout the razor where as on a stake knife its all in the handle and there is a reason for that.

I did the job with the stake knife did not cut myself at all no nicks on irritation just kept struggling to keep the blade at thirty degrees to the face, darn thing kept rotating with the point towards my ears.

While still sounding crazy to me, that is not as bad as when I thought it was vibrating because it was an electric steak knife.

Never shaved drunk but I can honestly say on the rare occassions that I do shave in the evening, a gin and tonic or cold beer while I do so isn't out of the question.

Yes it was serated. It was a common household stake knife and no it was not electric. Darn point kept rotating towards my ears becuase all of the weight is in the handle.
