I have to give credit to a little liquid courage for helping me give myself my first straight razor shave... dunno if I could have done it without! Beer? Probably not. Shaving + sipping on some fine bourbon? Excellent.

I had one beer last night while watching Mantic's videos and reading through the forums getting ready for my first DE shave this morning - does that count?

I was a bit buzzed last night and thought about shaving, but decided since I should wait till morning since I'm so new. I'm glad I did, todays shave went REALLY well....
Go ahead and enjoy with whatever drink and razor combination you like. Its no really big deal. Women love scars. They think they are macho.
I have watched my late father chug down a pint during his shaves. Old man never missed a beat or bled a bit.
Try as I might to reform, all my attempts at becoming an evening shaver have failed miserably. Drunk mornings, with or without shaving are just bad policy. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) my willingness and/or ability to consume hangover producing quantites of libation has similarly diminished as I became old enough to know better. As foggy as my best memory of being intoxicated is, I can't remember shaving being a priority whilst I was in the throws of uproarious intoxication. As I said before though, on the rare occassions I do shave in the evening a casual cocktail or cold beer is not out of the question.
Hmm...I don't really drink anymore. Maybe I could try a blind-folded shave! Offcourse, when I shave my head, I do the back with no mirror.
I work nights so when I'm off it doesn't matter when I drink. Sparing some details and reasons, I shaved really really drunk with a straight razor a few months ago. The shave was pretty bad and I got a lot of razor burn, but no disfiguring scars couple of knicks is all. I had to finish up with a DE. But I was Immediately reminded of this video. Drunk shaving is a good idea only if you use a Gillette Sensor, there is no way you can cut yourself with it.
I'll let ya know in an hour or so I'm really beginning to hate Hotels. When you travel enough, even the nice ones s#@k! btw- Absolut "New Orleans" Mango and Black Pepper Vodka is really nice, --makes even Mystic, CT seem like a cool litttle town.
