I'll be heading across the pond to England and France in week. I'll be in Paris for 5 days and London for 5 days. What shaving related places are a must see? What products can I get a better price on? Is there a particular barbershop I should go to for a wetshave? I'm open to any and all ideas.
    Thanks gents,
    Ben

If you'll be in London, there's the big name shops - Penhaligon's, Trufitt & Hill, Taylor's of Old Bond Street, etc....

My folks were in England a few months back and brought me a whole bunch of "cheap" stuff from a corner Chemist's. Erasmic (soap, stick, cream), Palmolive (cream, stick), Ingram (cream).... comparitavely that stuff is dirt cheap... :D

France, I have no clue. But check around for a member here jbcohen, I believe his folks went to France and were supposed to bring him back some stuff....never did hear for sure, though...maybe he'll check in here...maybe send him a PM.

Good luck, and be sure to post your acquisitions in "The Haul" when you return!

In France you can find a lot of interesting products in the "perfumeries": brushes, AS, EDT, Soaps,..... there is a lot of french brands of parfums and soaps, and they are usually top quality producs, the bottles less sophisticated than the english fragances, but the perfums are lovely,.....Go for the french brands of Grasse (the perfumeville of France) as Fragonard, Galimard or Molinard, their scents are excellent, and it´s very difficult to find them out of France.
At the malls you can find l'Occitane Shops with a lot of products: soaps, AS,....
At the drugstores you can buy alum and products for the hair and body: soap, creams, .....
I am not french but I often visit France, it´s only few kilometers from my village....
    Where you go in France?

In England: buy a rugby shirt of the english team, old style, in cotton, with no ads, only white shirt and the rose of England. Sorry I'm a former rugby player....

Compared to what you pay for them in the US, don't expect too many bargains on the high end stuff (its also like rocking horse manure to find).

Try the drugstore stuff like Palmolive, Erasmic, Wilkinson, etc - here's a pointer to what you might find in various stores on the street in the UK

Boots the chemist is a must, you will get the products that Truckman mentioned plus some others including their own brand shave sticks, soap & creams.

Trumpers is a barber i know that does wet shaves & has good product too.
Czeck & speake are in that neighbourhood too. Harrods might have a chemist/apothocary section.

Buy the England rugby shirt & wear it in France, :happy088

Or wear the french shirt near Twickenham in London....

PD: The rugby is an excellent sport, always rivals but never enemies, no problem to wear the rose of England in France,.....

There are many nice places to visit. Question is, how much money do you want to spend?

There must have been some text that triggered some common search result hits. Or maybe Al Quaeda is onto us.

(NOW see how many hits this gets!! :happy102 )
