Trying to decide on a travel kit (I'm going to the UK for three weeks). So far I've decided on the brush: this Rooney.

For the razor, I can't decide between this Aristocrat and the Click.

 

Well I over slept today but not wanting to forgo my shave I was force to shave in the shower. This normally is a good thing except I cannot see without my glasses any more hence I shave at the sink. What to do What to do. I shaved in the shower but used my Atra in lieu of my DE to keep from beeding to death.

You're lucky, buddy--I never had success trying to shave in the shower. I got cut badly, and I mean BADLY. :sick007

 

I have never tried the shower thing... I have been interested in trying but I don't have anyplace to set brush, razor, etc... while using the other item and B) I am not sure how I would see what I am doing. Anyone use those shower mirrors?

 

My eyesight without glasses is not good, so I need to be able to see what I am doing.

 

I can get away without my glasses when I shave.. but then again, I do have a scar under my nose from leaning in too close to the mirror and hitting the scales on the mirror... I don't think I would ever come close to trying to shave with a straight in the shower, but I might give a DE or injector a try sometime.

Shaving in the shower in unenjoyable! I used to want to do it when I used carts and foam but with a brush and proper lather it's basically ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Debating whether or not to go out tonight. Either way I felt like shaving.

One thing I want to say about Dorco ST-301s is while they shave well and are attractively priced, they have no longevity. Two two-pass shaves and they're over.

The 300s may be longer-lasting?

Anyway, when I just began DE shaving, several nice people sent me blade samples, among which were Pandas.

It's the only blade I've owned and never used, so I put it to the test today: Sub-standard blade that got the job done.

 

My shower has a ledge above the door I set my tools there. I have a fogless shower mirror, If I was to use the DE or Heaven forbid a straight, My eyesight would leave me a bloody mess. So I use the Atra its the only razor I never get nicked with. I can shave with my eyes closed. Of course do care must still be taken but I always shaved in the shower, I found the steam from the hot shower really helped soften and hydrate my beard. Now adays without my glasses I am relagated to the braille system to find my nose without my glasses. So I get up extra early so I can shave at the sink wit my glasses on in crystal clarity. But that has a down side as I have to look at my self that early. Scary!!!!

Face freezing fun! This was the first shave in recent memory that did not involve Witch Hazel. The other thing I can say without a doubt is that Osage Rub on a freshly shorn face burns like nothing else until the menthol kicks in. Then add the AV and it's a beautifully soothing thing. I really like this stack, great combination of soap and AS. This razor was so good to me yesterday I decided to give it another day before I moved on.

I find that the Derby blades may have a little more staying power than any other brand that I've used. I may attempt a 4th shave with this one tomorrow. Anyhow, I'm as smooth as silk!
