Well, this was my first shot with a cream. Picked up the $5 tube from Bath and Body Works. Lathered up nicely and I had read about peoples experience and the cooling effect. Wow they were right. It felt like Aqua Velva beefed up during the shave. Gave a great shave other then 2-3 weepers and a lil irritation on my neck....but I suppose that maybe more from technique that I need to work on when using creams. If you're looking to try a cream and don't mind the menthol/cooling feeling definitely give this a shot for $5 locally it's hard to beat. Next up is trying this as a super lather. Either with Williams, VHD, or maybe my eucalyptus from Susie's.
Somebody said to me that there is a difference between BIgelow and Proraso Green cream with the lather and the cooling effect. I wonder what it is.
Never heard that - I did hear that the ingredients list didn't line up exactly (two items in a different order - almost like using an old formula versus a new one)
For some unquantifiable reason, I like Proraso more than Bigelow. It may be simple psychological weirdness, or it may be something in the ingredients. As far as I can tell, they lather the same, feel the same, smell the same, etc. I've never tried them side by side though. Might have to do that when I order Proraso again.
It is good stuff I used the C.O. Bigalow the other day.. great stuff. SO they are both made by Proraso but are different in some way?
Mixed CO with Susies citrus and sage on my last shave. Nice combo. It took the menthol down a bit and had a nice glyde on the skin like a soap but a bit added cushin from the cream.... Now trying to figure out what to mix or use solo is get'n hard.
I used the CO exclusively for about 6 months and I loved it. I would have just bought more and been happy, except my AD set in and I need to try as many scents and brands as possible.
Personally, I used to like the Proraso Green cream, but all of a sudden, I began to dislike it. It seems to have changed.
OMG!! BIGELOW (PRORASO) IS THE GREATEST! YES I AM TYPING THIS IN ALL CAPS... WHICH MEANS I AM SCREAMING! IT FELT GREAT! IT TOOK SO LITTLE! IT LATHERED GREAT! I AM IN LOVE WITH THE STUFF!! I hear you I splurged and got the $10 10x as much big tube. It's all gone. Need I say more? If I do, I also killed 2 of the little tubes.
