Who does this? I mean honestly! http://www.tampabay.com/news/publicsafety/crime/jellyfish-throwing-helps-land-madeira-beach-man-in-jail/1034519
Drunks.... that is the simple answer.. I work surveillance for a casino.. but don't tell... You should see some of the things drunks do there. but on the bright side at least it was not sting rays. Fuzzy
Hmmm... well, I found it kinda funny But the passage that made me go "WTF" was: What the hell? Those policemen would have to arrest 80% of all Austrian men as we tend to always carry a pocketknife with us - comes in handy in a lot of situations and I'm not even talking about illegal uses, self defense or stuff like that...
It's like I always say, many people just should NOT drink. Or post comments on the internet. It wasn't as bad as Youtube or Metacafe, at least.
I'm trying to debate which is more obsurd: 1) A 39 year old man thinking tossing jellyfish at people is fun 2) A pocket knife is considered a concealed weapon
Well it's also true most places here in Florida where this guy was. I find that it's rarely enforced unless they are really looking for a reason to hold you. I believe there is technically a fairly short maximum length of blade you are allowed to carry but most people I know carry them. I hang around mostly with technicians and tradesmen though so I may not be representative of the whole population.
+1 in the case of the drunk jellyfish tosser. He threw the jellyfish at others, now they're going to throw the book at him!
It was a bit of a stretch, I'm sure. A 2-inch switchblade is illegal here in TX. Charge'll probably get dropped, anyway. I'm sure the asshattery didn't stop when the cops showed up. Probably got worse, in fact. Hence the charge. Hell, he deserved whatever they could get him for, the cretin.
That's probably it, yeah. We also have a maximum blade length here and it has to be a knife that can't be opened and secured with one hand. I think the maximum length is 12 centimetres or so which is quite reasonable, a larger one would barely fit in one's pockets
We have more or less the same here.... No stilletto's, no automatic switchblades, or other scary pieces. Maximum blade lenght is about 10 cm I have a knife with me ever since I was about twelve or so. Never had any problems
Most cops aren't going to jack with you about it inless you are acting like an ass or engaged in something besides a traffic violation. I have always had a blade on me for as long as I can remember. If I come across someone in TX without one I'm surprised.
