Hello everyone, I am new to this forum but have been wet shaving for ten years. I have been DE shaving for over a year. I belonged to other shaving forums but never really felt that I belonged....my gear isn't expencive I don't own a hundred dollar bar of soap and I don't put it on my face with a three hundred plus dollar brush. My razor isn't shiney and new. My gear does give me a really good shave, I know enough about the hobby to help new people with the process. My hobby has evolved from the process of the equipment to shave to the area of collecting as well as using different razors. I am 39 years old I am from Iowa and my other hobbies enclude pipe smoking and collecting, collecting of Case knives. I have a modist record collection. I would also like to get into home brewing. More to come as it developes......... Hank
I know how you feel Hank. And welcome. I too tried out some other forums, and found I just don't have that kind of money. In fact, picking up straight shaving gear at a price even a college student can afford is my current quest. People here are way way friendlier, and big supporters of the low end gear shaver. Once again, welcome Drew
Welcome to The Shave Den Hank. A great community of guys and gals that enjoy wet shaving! I hope you enjoy your stay. Even though you are not a newbie to wet shaving, be sure to sign up for the September Newbie Give-Away for a chance to win some great shave gear. Because after all, free is good! You are more than welcome here, I don't own the expensive stuff either, and the vast majority of my razors are shaver grade at best.
Welcome, Hank. I'm new here as well but not new to wet shaving. However, I'm getting quite an education here. I, too, believe one can get a really good shave without spending half the Kingdom's wealth.
Welcome to The Shave Den, Hank As Tom already said..... You'll fit right in!! So enjoy your stay here
Hey Hank welcome to the forums. I'm new here myself. Have only done one wet shave so far. Did OK,but hope to get better at this. However I have been around brewing and wine making since I was a young one. I know a little about brewing. Probably just enough to get in trouble. But know quite a bit about wine making. If you ever get into this and need a few pointers holler. Maybe I can help you out there.
Hi Hank and :signs046 to TSD. The shaving experience is not always, "You get what you pay for." My favorite razor is a Gillette NEW and I spent less than $10.00 for it, including shipping. It's old, and looks it, but I get million dollar shaves from it and that really is the bottom line. You'll definitely fit right in here. Have fun and enjoy those shaves.
Hi I'm fuzzy and I'm a shave addict.. oh and cheap too... Welcome to the show.. Hope you like it here. Fuzzy
Welcome to the Den! Although I have bad cases of *AD... my brushes, razors, soaps, are all cheap.. there are just a lot of them. Some of my best shaves are with a $5 brush, a $5 razor, $5 soap, $2 witch hazel, and $4 after shave.
Thank you all for the warm welcomes! I can tell that I fit in here better than I ever did in other shaving forums.
