1. You can post your non-shave related acquisitions here if you want or in "The Haul" threads. Just make sure if you post there to identify the post as a non-shave related item.

For those of us that have seen the light of the shaving gods, we tend to be collectors of other "things." These are my acquisition addictions. I'll be posting purchases of these items here.

    Revised: 10/05/07

Horses - Next to my family, this is #1. I'm down to 2 for me, youngster and retiree, and 1 for my wife.
DE Shaving - You just have to look at my locl to know how much trouble I'm in.
Cookware - Almost as bad as DE Shaving (Calphalon) - Quiet for a while
Cutlery - A little less than Cookware (Henkels) - Quiet for a while
Christmas Outdoor Decorations - Joint effort by one and all. Christmas is coming soon.
    Sci-Fi/Fantasy Books - Rising. 1-2 books a week.
Horror and Sci-Fi/Fantasy DVDs - My Amazon wish list is full of them.
PS2 Games - Depends on how much my daughter wants it too. Quiet right now.
Coffee - Goes back and forth (AeroPress, French Press, Cuisinart DCC-1200, Kyusu Teapot)
    Porto - Donations Accepted
Pipes & Cigars - Do I really want to start this back up again? Maybe later.

    Coffee
    Firearms
    Fountain Pens
    Mechanical Watches

Help......I just move from one to the other
  3. If I had the money, I would spend a lot on cameras and lenses and coffee machines. I read a lot and occasionally play video games.
  4. Wait, wait...you're from Gilroy and you collect nothing to do with GARLIC?! No garlic presses, no garlic shaving cream? Nothing?! Whazzup with that?!

I guess you could say I collect cookware. When I was divorced, I'd never cooked much other than stuff on the grill and an occasional round of fried chicken. I actually called my ex at one point and asked her how to make white sauce! (yes, she told me) Decided I wanted to get some good stuff and learn how to use it.

So...research said All-Clad was good, so I bought a few (ok, 7) pieces. Nice! Then, I saw an ad in a local flyer for 11 pieces of LeCrueset - for $50!!! How could I pass on that?!

I'd always liked copper stuff, but what's-her-name thought it was too much trouble (which, as it turns out, is not really true). Now, I have 10 pieces of industrial strength Mauviel, some with stainless lining, some tinned. 2.5mm thick with cast iron handles. NicER!! My favorite.

I also have several pieces of antique cast iron. Folks this stuff is awesome! Ever make popovers in a cast iron popover pan?

But only 3 brushes (if the B&B would ever get here!) Hey, maybe Barkeeper's friend would get rid of the smell! :D
  5. Wet Shaving -- Brushes, Razors, Creams, Soaps, Balms, Mugs, Scuttles & more.

Flashlights -- Mostly small high quality lights...and ofcourse Head Lamps.

Multi-Tools -- Leatherman, Gerber, SOG...and ofcourse Swiss Army.

I'm stoppin' with three! I can't tell all my secrets!
  6. Oh man... if I had the money it would be far worse...

Watches - Tag, Omega, Breitling... working up to the A Lange and Patek's
    Sunglasses - Oakley, Maui Jim
    Wine - pinot noir, shiraz
    anything in the kitchen

I'll stop there so I don't spend 30 minutes on this post
  7. I probably have 400 or so movies and CD's

Horror Movies, B movies mostly and various types of music from Slayer to Roger Miller.
  8. For me:

Baseballs Foul balls from different stadiums and leagues and a few personal from my college, Double A and Semi-pro days.
New baseballs from different leagues Major League to Triple A to the Big 12 Conference.
Firearms but not as many I used to have, I am down to 4 from about 12.
Honing stones... I'm up to 5 now, 2 Norton waterstones, King japanese waterstone, chinese polishing stone, and one Shumate barber hone.
    Law Enforcement agencies shoulder patches

  19. Update on Disorder

I'm sorry to say that I have found a home for one of my horses. :( It pains me to do this but I have to think about what is best for the horse. Bonnie, my 6 yr old black mare is going to Texas as a broodmare. She will make a very good Mama and will be able to hang out in pasture all day and be inside at night.

The woman who is taking her took our older dog when we had to find him a new home because little kids scared the heck out of him for some reason when nothing else would. He is now a very happy dog, fatter dog. I know this woman will take the best care of Bonnie.

On the other hand, my wife has a horse on loaner at the same time she is trying to sell her western pleasure mare. A woman in Hawaii is interested in her but I have not heard any updates in a couple of days.
