Some of you will appreciate this more than others, and those are the ones who made me want to do this. Those of you who knew my late father may remember that he was an avid fan of the Rolls Razor. He had a dozen of them at one time, but either sold or traded most of them. I now have the few he kept. One was the razor that he personally honed, stropped, and used. The other one he kept as a backup. The second one, I am going to give away to someone on the forums. It has to be someone who has been around for a bit. No newbies!! That is how Dad would have wanted it, grouch that he was!! The razor is in great condition, nice and shiny, and even has the case!! So, in exactly one week, I will look through this thread again and personally pick someone. No random generators, no numbers. Matter of fact, I have no idea what will make any difference.

My Dad gave me a Rolls many years ago when I was just starting to shave. At the time I didn't know if he was rewarding me or punishing me! :happy102 That Rolls disappeared in the course of the many moves I made over the years, and I now realize it is irreplaceable. But re-living the shave is a nice idea.

There's really only one thing to say to this unique and wonderful offer: Go Suck Eggs! I got to know your dad better after he passed than before (though I was around for the weenie roast). Want to make this clear. I am a newbie and I am not looking to be considered here. In fact I have already received a free straight razor from a member here, Glen to be specific. I just wanted to say Wow The people here have a real class about them. Always astounded and the great nature from everyone here at the Den. Oh and by the way your Dad seems to have raised one helluva son.
What a great gesture. I think your father and mine had similar dispositions, though my father never gave a second thought to shaving. Your dad was a real character, and it is great to see his posts get brought up on a regular basis. I was very fortunate to have my father for many years until he passed away two years ago at 95! I still shave with the slim adjustable that he gave me, and recently I found his old super speed and brush, and I will shave with that one too. Never have had a Rolls Shave, but I certainly am up for it. Will N.
WOW Have been looking at them for quite a while but haven't picked one up yet. I've gotten the understanding that the shave like a str8. It is all about the honing and stropping.
Nice gesture! I didn't get to know him well, I mainly stayed out of his way, but I know his favorite saying: GET OFF MY LAWN! Who that knew him, or read his posts didn't think of him when that movie came out :rofl
