Man, Rich, sorry she had to go...but you sound satisfied that she is going to a good home. That counts for a lot.

Like Sue: books, books and more books. To read, not collect.

    other addictions:

    LPs
    DVDs (classic and SF)
    Typewriters
    Piano sheet music
    vintage airplane stuff
    submarine buff
shaving stuff : razors only. . .and some brushes, some mugs. . .etc. :D

Very cool photo, Rene! Looks like the control panel of a Ford Tri Motor.

    :happy068 :happy068 You people need serious help! :happy068 :happy068

And today's your lucky day. I'm from the government....I'm here to help! :signs136 I make recovery easy!

Now all of you close your eyes and say twenty-seven times, "I have a problem, especially with all this shaving stuff!" Then box up all of your razors, brushes, creams and soaps [except for your boar brush and BIC Metals] :happy068 and rush them to the UPS store. :happy068 Address them to....

The PottyDoctor....who's the keeper of the goodies! :signs136

    Books.

If I had more money, I could see watches being a possibility. And pens. But for now, I can only feed my shaving ADs and my book ADs. And I don't buy a book unless it's for reading.

I never really considered that I had any ADs before this wetshaving thing. Maybe tools. There always seemed to be another sander, saw or some little shop goodies I need.

But I got into pipes and cigars about fifteen years ago. Cigars can get expensive!

And then this wetshaving thing, which is weird, though. I never even cared about what bath soaps I used before. Just whatever was there. Same with shaving. The cheaper the better. Disposable razors, 10 pack for 6 bucks? Okay. Barbasol shave foam? Whatever...

Now, I can add shaving ADs to the others. ;)

Few years ago I had to do the same thing with Doc, my bay best buddy quarter horse. So I know how you feel. At least she is a good lady and the horse is coming to Texas which is like horse heaven:D

where is she from in Texas?

I forget offhand, I'll look it up when I get home. She is a wonderful lady and I know she will treat Bonnie very well. Bonnie leaves for Texas on 4/16.

For those kitchen, cookin', chef kinda guys/gals.

I have bought from these guys before. They are quick, make killer knives, and their prices are good. After you wind up spending too much money there, you have my permission to come back and cuss me out. :angelic007

Already familiar with that site. :D Got a question for you Bill. Of the commercial sharpeners, like Spiderco or Lansky systems, who do you like? I have a set of generic stones I use on occasion but was wondering if these systems are any good.

I don't have a Spiderco, but I do have a Lansky. It is a terrific system. Be sure to get at least one of the diamond hones, though. Medium grit, if you can only get one. Medium and fine, if you can get two.

They work really well for those who have a tough time being consistent when they are sharpening a knife. The Lansky takes the variables out of the equation.

Once you have used it a lot, you will have better success sharpening knives without the use of the aid.

Have that one too (both the disorder AND the book) and it's killing me. I collect Dune books, Terry Goodkind, Terry Pratchett, Orson Scott Card, Chris Heimerdinger, Douglas Adams and David and Leigh Eddings.

And I also collect music books by bands that I like.

Dave Matthews Band, Jimmy Eat World, Muse and anything else that strikes my fancy.

Have/had a lot of books from those authors. I had at one time @3000 sci-fi/fanatasy books but I had no place to put them anymore so I donated about 3/4 of them to the library figuring some young kid would get excited about reading like I did when I was 15. I kept the collector books and certain authors. I have the entire Edgar Rice Burroughs Tarzan Series and almost every book Philip Jose Farmer has ever written who is the author that got me started.

I am on a 3 a week book habit. (I have a great little store that sells interesting used books) but I don't know what is going to happen when I have to ship them all back home!

What makes this extra difficult is that I carry a full load at college. I just am so interested in so many topics. Books are the best. I am working on my Native/Aboriginal people collection the hardest lately. Mostly it is for my mother, who was an American Indian in her past life. I get her books, posters and lithographs and pictures of Geronimo for her Birthday, xmas, etc. She has a great collection of Native art that I am also into as well. My favorite is art from the Pacific Northwest, and I have a rather large tattoo on my leg that proves it! Beautiful people, and beautiful art.
