Modified Grandpa Shave Friday Razor: Replated New Head with Cooncat Bob HD Handle -Burl Tip Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge Brush: Rooney SMF Special Soap: Speick Shave Stick A/S: Speick Aftershave Splash EDT: Speick I participate in the "Grandpa Shave" on Fridays where the rules specify that products used must have been around for at least 40 years. This Friday I modified the rules a bit...the handle of my razor is new (Bobs Razor Works) but the head is at least 40 years old (although it has been replated). I am a relative novice when it comes to shave sticks but I rubbed the Speick stick all over my wet face and then face lathered with the Rooney. I got a great lather and enjoyed an excellent shave. The Speick splash and a spritz of Speick EDT was a great way to start the day.
Friday grandpa shave I entered this Friday’s Grandpa Shave in the spirit, if not the actual letter, of the Grandpa Shave concept. I think the old-time “barbershoppy” scent of Fraser’s might qualify for Grandpa status and the Walgreen’s aftershave reminded me of the stuff available in small town drugstores of the 1950’s. And the Tech is still a darned nice razor--I use it for travel. Grandpa had a boar brush or two, but not the one I used. OCT. 2'S II. TOP-NOTCH SHAVE. Wash: Yardley Aloe Razor: Lord Click Blade: Grecian BIC Can: Barbasol Pulse Splash: Clubman Finish: Cardin PM. ... Love the Click and, even more so, Croma blades; but with so few left, I use them only once in a blue moon, then remove them from the razor, saving them for another time. Each Croma Diamant gives my tough beard circa 15 smooth shaves. They're unbelievable. If anyone has some and doesn't like them, you know to whom to send them! Used 99-cent Barbasol "Pulse" today from the Ultra Series; enriched with Aloe and Lanolin, it gave me a very fine lather, the only downside of which was my hands' getting dirty. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZLQW2qr5Hs
Unforgivable is a smart buy. It's a carbon-copy of Creed's MI in a 40 dollar bottle. I don't care how astute your nose is; you can't tell the difference between the two. I remember reading one "basenoter" commenting that P. Diddy's fragrance has more grapefruit in int. OKAY.

Saturday: Gorey's Chairman Parker 22R/Nacet day 2 Williams Sensitive-SC Lubriderm unscented moisturizer Old Spice-AS (P&G) Old Spice-cologne (Shulton) What a wonderful shave--BBS in 2 easy passes with my Parker 22R/Nacet combo. I definitely find the Shulton Old Spice smells nicer than the P&G version. I was lucky to buy 3 bottles of it from a friend of mine who doesn't like the stuff any more.
