    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer
    Burt's Bees Bay Rum-AS balm

Lets call this my Grandpa Shave for the week, because my grandpa enjoyed Noxzema cream also. I got real BBS today, and I love the Burts Bees Bay Rum balm--it smells so old school and nice! ;) :D
  3. Sunday: Schick Krona razor / Treet Black Beauty blade / Arko SS / Omega Brush / M&L Florida Water Cologne

A really nice DFS to start the day.
  4. They now have a head that is available on the Muhle and the EJ. Merkur heads were phased out for the new 2009 models.
  5. Sunday

    • Superlather Combo:Tabac & C.O. Bigelow
    • Brush:Semogue 1305
    • Razor:Rolls Razor
    • Blade:Rolls Razor
    • A/S: Coyote's WH Blend followed by Aqua Velva: Ice Blue

Well... this particular Rolls blade came to me in bad shape (eBay auction...) it is at least shaveable now. However, after 1000+ passes on the hone, it still can't get BBS close. For those who haven't used a Rolls, with a sharp blade they are superb. I have been challenging myself to bring this warped, rusted, dull blade back to shave condition. Its just about there... :D
  6. Merkur HD
    Feather
    Rooney 3, 1
    Truefitt & Hill 1805 Cream
    Truefitt & Hill 1805 Balm
  7. Thanks, Rodd!

So any idea who is manufacturing the head?
  8. Hot Shower
    1908 Ever Ready Lather Catcher
    Williams Rose SS (Home Brew)
    Dickinson's WH
    Corn Huskers Lotion
    Murray and Lanman's Rose Cologne.

My initial soap experiment would seem to be a success. Good lather, nice subtle rose scent. I'll be test driving this one most of the week. Ah yes, Mr. Buffett on tunes this morning. I suppose the USO hat can in part forgive his endorsement of certain presidential candidates:

Blade: Astra Superior Platinum (shave #1)
    Soap: Tabac
    Brush: Vulfix 2006 pure badger
A/S: Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood splash (received as a sample)

A typically great shave from the Futur/Tabac team!
  10. Shower
    Semogue 1305
    ARKO Stick
    Merkur 33C/Wilkinson White
    Dickensens Whitch Hazel
    Aqua Velva
  11. Sunday

    Razor: Merkur Futur on 1.5
    Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock SharpEdge
    Brush: Rooney SMF Special
    Pre-Shave: Kell's Original Turkish Mocha Pre-shave Soap
    Soap: Speick Shave Stick
    A/S: Speick Splash

The Speick shave stick has been so speicktacular that I have used it 3 days in a row. I again received an excellent shave and the Speick Splash provided an appropriate finish.
  12. I think that the Muhle and the Edwin Jagger use the same head design, but they didn't make this head in Solingen or Germany, but Merkur makes its razors in Solingen. They are very similar but not identical. The Merkur head is a bit more agressive-

  17. I have heard that it is a collaborative effort between the two companies.

Took me a bit to find pictures at similar angles, but hopefully this
helps. The Merkur on the left, Muhle on the right.
    [IMG][IMG]

The EJ/Muhle head is thicker in the center, a bit heavier. Other than that, they look pretty much the same. The open combs are pretty difficult to see the difference in. I have one of each of those here, the only difference I can see is that the finishing is better on the Muhle.
  18. Thanks, Rodd! Very helpful!

Sure you know better than me the merkur razor :happy102:happy102

:( I have no pretty face

I have search information about the Mühle and EJ heads .... but they not are made in Germany... in this way Merkur it's not the supplier, IMHO.
