Monday: Concord razor / Laser Ultra blade / Lord Emofresh SC / Omega brush / Barbasol Pacific Rush Aftershave.

The Concord is a very mild razor, hard to cut yourself even if you wanted to. Also the Pacific Rush has a really nice cooling effect.

 

After the usual 1-2 minute hot towel prep:

I've had this razor for a while now, and today was it's first use by me. Not much weight to it(hollow handle), and it's........oops, this is a 4 piecer! Sheeesh, my mistake. Yeah, I'd had the handle assembled already a while ago, and forgot until now it had two pieces that screwed together.

Anyway, a very nice shave today, and this little thing worked out well. The lather was perfect, unlike yesterday when I messed it up a little. What a nice soap this stuff is.

Great lather, great shave. I used a bowl this morning and it was actually pretty nice. I've been face lathering for so long that I enjoyed the change. The Shavemac felt like a cloud of warm lather when I finally lathered up.

First time shaving with MWF. Great shave, and the Pinaud Bay Rum provided a fine finish.

All kinds of crazy things were happening with my shaves last week. Irritation, tightness and dryness in my chin area. It was very disheartening. To top it all off, as I mentioned in an SOTD last week, I had a beastly ingrown hair right on my Adam's Apple that would just not go away. Finally, last night, I freed that sucker from it's epidermal prison and now, all is right with the world. I went with a nice gentle soap today but I had about 4 days worth of growth so I needed a nice, sharp blade. Hello Feather. Feather's work for me just fine but I only get one or two shaves out of a blade before they start to go hogwash on me. Hence the reason I don't buy that many because they are expensive and don't last long. As far as today's shave went, I have no complaints. Everything went really, really well and I'll look forward to another nice shave on Wednesday.

Today was my second go with the Muhle R89 (2009 version). What a well built, mild, three-piece razor. Paired with the Swede, it delivered a close, comfy shave.
