Good morning. I found this site from doing a Google search. I came here hoping to learn more about a better shave. I have tried electrics, cartridge shavers, and disposables. I have tried shave gels and foams. My face just becomes irritated, I get razor burn, you know the deal. I am here to learn how to become a better shaver and maybe not dislike shaving so much. Right now my shaving supplies consist of Edge shave gel and a Gillette Goodnews disposable, and Gillette series aftershave gel.
Welcome to The Shave Den :happy088 I´m sure that you will get all the information you need about wet shaving from the guys and galls here!! Enjoy your stay here
Welcome to the Den! I was in the same boat - Now my worst shaves with a DE, SE, or straight give me far less irritation than my best shaves with electric or cartridge ever did.
Welcome the TSD! This place is a wealth of information. The people here are very knowledgable. You will never find a better group of friends there her at TSD! I also used to dread shaving. Razor burn was a normal thing for me also. Since I started wetshaving, I haven't had it since. Shaveing is not longer a chore. It is an experience! Good Luck!
Welcome to TSD! Definitely watch those videos in Mantic's signature. He does a great job cover all the basics you'll need to know. If you have specific questions or want opinions about various equipment and technique, we're here for you.
Welcome to The Shave Den! A great community of guys and gals that enjoy wet shaving, I hope you enjoy your stay! Be sure to sign up for the October Newbie Give-Away for a chance to win some great shave gear!
Welcome to the Den. Great folks here to help with what ever you need. Mantic's videos are not just recommended they're required. Just joking but they are truly full of necessary information and will go a long way to getting you started right with DE shaving. Good Luck.
welcome! I was just like you "Gillette 5 blade, EDGE gel, and AFTA AS" I started "the conversion" by replacing 1 thing at a time, starting with creams as it was cheapest, followed by razor and brush. Even if you take it slow like this, you will notice a difference.
Welcome to TSD! I hope you enjoy your stay and your shaves. You're in the right place. With a very small investment, you'll be getting great shaves and actually enjoying them for a change. :sihns011:happy096 :sihns011 TOO!

Welcome to TSD! My remarks and recommendations: 1. Mantics videos are a fantastic start. There is a bit of a learning curve to wetshaving but it's very easily mastered and these video's are indeed the standard in Cliff's Notes for the aspiring wetshaver. 2. Poke around, do homework, ask questions. Most everyone here has been in your shoes at one time or another so don't be shy. Folks here are more than happy to help 3. Good Starter Kit: It really isn't that expensive to start (once it becomes a hobby though, you may be in trouble ) A decent starter kit can be had for pretty affordable prices, shop around. Hint: VDH Deluxe soap, Omega or Semogue boar brushes and 1912 Gem Jr's. Are all affordable products that perform way above their price range. Ditto Aqua Velva Classic. 4. The most important rule: HAVE FUN!!! I know that shaving as a hobby, looking forward to shaving and (heaven forbid) having fun shaving sound like completely impossible feats from where you are now but trust me, you'll get there. As I said, most everyone here came from where you are now and we all enjoy our daily shaves as well as communing with other shave freaks that think like we do. It's a blast!
Welcome to the Den! A better shave is what we're all looking for, so you're in the right place! Enjoy! Jim
