    Razor: Merkur Futur on 1.75
    Blade: Iridium Super
    Brush: Shavemac D01 Horn
    Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Soap: Harris Arlington
    A/S: Trumper Marlborough

Wow! I am glad to see an old friend again. After dabbling with other razors including the Vision over the past two weeks my belief that the Futur is the ultimate shaving machine has been reaffirmed. I received an effortless BBS shave with zero irritation. The Trumper Marlborough paired well with the Arlington soap.

    Saturday Shave

    Saturday, November 14, 2009

    Razor: EJ Chatsworth
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum (shave #5)
    Brush: Vulfix 2234 Super
    Soap/Cream: Erasmic cream
    A/S: Dickinson’s Witch Hazel/Ogallala Bay Rum

The Erasmic cream easily and quickly burst into lots of creamy lather, using just a little dab of the cream. The shave was excellent and very near BBS, even though this was the last shave on this blade. I really like the scent of this cream, which added to the whole experience.

Wait! I just touched my face and I think the shave WAS BBS. Sometimes it takes awhile for the pores to close and the remainder of the whiskers to retract.

The witch hazel and Ogallala Bay Rum was, as always, a fine finish.

Shave Of The Day - November 14th

    • Shea Butter pre-treatment
    • Hot Shower
    • E.J. Badger Brush
    • La Toja Shave Stick
    • Pal 3 piece
    • Gillette Super Thin Blade - Day 3
    • Homemade Skin Food
    • La Toja Aftershave Splash

Todays shave came courtesy of my lil' bro Bong, using the goodies he sent me and following his suggested routine, I had a great shave. Momma loves the La Toja Aftershave Splash and wants me to seek out a La Toja cologne if its available. Thanks again, Bong! :happy088

    Saturday Morning:

Hot Shower/Hot Towel/Proraso Glycerin Cleansing Bar
    1955 Gillette Flare Tip SS
    Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow (Shave #2)
    Omega #80267 Boar
    Tabac SS
    NOS Shulton Old Spice A/S
    Vaseline IRML Lotion

Another fantastic shave with the 7 O'Clock Yellow blade. I might be able to squeeze another shave out of it but it did start to feel a bit dull towards the end of my last pass. I feel like I did a fairly decent job generating a lather with the Omega boar brush and the Tabac shave soap. My only complaint from this set up was the burn I got from the Shulton Old Spice. The Proctor & Gamble formula does that affect me like that at all. A question to pose on the aftershaves thread I suppose. Enjoy the weekend!

    TSD Wheat Mayan Gold
    Semogue 1250
    DH WH,TSD Ice Acorns, CHL

Pushed my luck on the derby. 1 shave too many. I had a good shave yesterday, but won't get a chance tomorrow so I wanted to sneak in a touch up. Glad it was only a touch up. The Acorns and Oak trees AS is really growing on me. I look forward to trying more TSD-AS scents but surprised I haven't heard more about this one.

Sunday: Lord Smart Razor / Astra SP blade / Bathhouse Bay Rum SS / Rooney 3-1 brush / T&H West Indies Lime Cologne

The Bathhouse SS irritated the old face this morning. Think it's the Bay Rum portion of the soap. But a good shave nonetheless.

    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer
    Hega-AS

A small change in the plans today--I originally wanted to use Iced Subzero cream and aftershave today, but I realized that I have been neglecting my soaps, so I decided instead to use this great French soap. The Hega aftershave has no menthol, but it's really quite cooling, and it leaves my skin soothed and feeling terrific. 2 other points are, my Omega Wooden Handle is a fantastic brush, and I'm in love with my Super Speed! ;) :D

Brush: iKonRazors handmade stainless steel 24mm knot
    Razor: The Emerald Wapienica

According to my wife, who does not make a habit of commenting on such things, "that's the best shave you've ever had!".

    Good Sunday morning all...

    Fat Handle Tech w/ Feather
    E.Jagger BBB
    Straight Razor Designs Sandalwood ss
    Thayers Original WH w/ aloe
    C&E Sandalwood a/s balm
    C&E Sandalwood Edt

A Sandalwood Sunday morning...a two day growth to start and a BBS result with the Tech/Feather and SRD soap combo. The soap is glycerin based and has a mild scent but provides a great lather and wonderful skin conditioning. My two and a half passes worked really well this morning and my two head passes with the Mach 3 left me feeling wonderful from the neck up.

    Sunday Super Shave

    Got my hair did then:
    Hot Shower
    1912 Gem Jr. (Metal Handle)
    Omega Boar Brush
    Williams Soap
    WH/CHL
    English Leather AS
    Armani Code EdT
    Oregon Wild Hair Moustache Wax

Great shave on both the head and the face. Did 3 passes on the spud before my shower. Then a simple 2 pass shave with light touch ups on the face afterwards. This razor is by far not my prettiest razor but I would say it ranks as one of my favorites, performance wise. Great shaves! English Leather always reminds me of my Dad too.
