Somewhere out there on that horizon
    Out beyond the neon lights
I know there must be somethin' better
But there's nowhere else in sight
    It's survival in the city
When you live from day to day
City streets don't have much pity
    When you're down, that's where you'll stay
    In the city, oh, oh.
    In the city

I was born here in the city
With my back against the wall
Nothing grows, and life ain't very pretty
No one's there to catch you when you fall
    Somewhere out on that horizon
    Faraway from the neon sky
I know there must be somethin' better
And I can't stay another night
    In the city, oh, oh.
    In the city

Above all, I need to buy the new Nikon Trinity:
    The new 14-24mm f/2.8
    The new 24-70mm f/2.8
    And your 70-200mm f/2.8

That explains why you are done buying shave stuff :D

I haven't seen/used the 14-24 or the 24-70, but I'd imagine they are spectacular lenses. Are these even out yet?

    I have the 17-55 f/2.8, so I actually have a gap from 55 to 70

Nope, their release date is officially November, I believe. Your 17-55mm is also a spectacular lens, however it was specifically designed for DX sensor-equipped DSLR which includes every Nikon DSLR minus the new full-frame D3. The advantage of these three lenses (14-24, 24-70 and 70-200) is they are suited for both DX and full-frame sensors.

The 14-24mm would make sense if you intend to buy in the future a full-frame body. On your D200 (or even the new D300), the 14-24 will become a 21-36mm which makes no sense. If you need an ultra-wide angle lens for a DX sensor, you’d better get the 12-24mm.

That’s my goal, yes. However, I won’t be able to buy it before at least a year. I have way too many things to buy before that, but photography is a hobby (perhaps the only one) I’m willing to spend a lot of money in.

We got the 70-200 for my wife's Canon. Didn't get the f2.8, because we felt it necessary to eat for the next two years!
No L glass, no IS, FOOD!
Soon, I will start collecting prime lenses for the film camera. Once we build the darkroom.
