So there I was Friday night, the work day done, ate my supper and was nursing what was left of a giant mug full of Negra Modelo. My wife and I were watching Deal or No Deal and as per usual I was paying more attention to the models than anything else. Then came the thoughts. I tried to shrug them off, thinking to myself, "No dude, just wait until you can do it for real." Alas it was no use, the thought consumed me, nay haunted me. I could stand it no longer. I went to the bathroom and closed the door, barely able to contain myself. I made one last futile attempt to contain myself but to no avail. My soul screamed for immediate satisfaction. I'd become absolutely insatiable. I knew right then and there I'd have to take the matter in hand and solve the problem. "I'll just make it a quicky" I said to myself, "No one needs to know, it will be my secret." So I pulled out my son's can of Barbasol Green, and my Magic Shavette and hammered out a quick 1 pass North/South shave. I have sinned on the following counts: 1. Rinsed my razor under hot running water instead of running a sink full. 2. Canned shaving cream...I don't think Barbasol qualifies as goo though. In fact, don't tell anyone but I rather liked it. 3. I did two shaves today. Just so I could go play with my...um...RAZOR Yeah, it was a DFS though, I think I'm getting the hang of this shavette business, finished up with Witch Hazel and refreshed my Clubman AS. Great Success!
If you like the stuff, use it. For 6 shaves from my whole life, I used Barbasol in the yellow can, which irritated me so badly, it was unbearable.

As you have pointed it was a damn fine shave and we are here to enjoy that,so no sin and enjoy your shaves!
Barbasol is taboo here. Do it with a Mach 3 or a quatro and we may mock you, but I agree with the previous post that comends you on enjoying your shave with whatever medium you use

I never used Barbersol. How does it cushion? Is it slick? Used Edge briefly. The best thing I can say about it was it got me back to my brush and Old Spice mug. My view, if it works and you enjoyed it then nothing to be ashamed of But your secret is safe with us.
After getting back to real shaving this morning, I suppose the Barbasol was not all that good in retrospect. The part that made it a damn fine shave was likely more the product of the shavette and the Clubman AS and had little to do with Barbasol Green. Maybe not so much a sin as a momentary lapse of good judgement. I shant be reaching for Barbasol anytime again soon.
For canned shaving cream I think Barbasol is quite good, and in fact better than Gillette Foamy. But in terms of density and slickness it in no way compares to mug soap such as VDH.
If you were happy using a straight with Barbasol, I'd guess your technique is improving. That stuff wasn't doing you any favors.
