And what kind of problems did you have? @CeskiKorun: is the seller's hold only for business account, or do they do that with private accounts too? @ek.310: The reason they offer protection on eBay purchases is because eBay own PayPal. If you use a credit card, the bank or the credit card co. can handle disputes. I've used PayPal for buying for ages and really like it.
Same here. PayPal can be a bane for sellers, especially when dishonest buyers are involved. I sold a rare, still factory-sealed record to a winning bidder in another country for $250. A few weeks later, I got an email from the buyer saying that the record was not as advertised. I agreed to accept a return of the record at which time I would issue a refund. What I got was a totally trashed record in a badly worn jacket. When I emailed saying this was not the record I sent him, he complained to PayPal and after 30 days they sided with him. I was stuck with a worthless piece of trash. This goes on a lot with shady collectors world wide.
I know I posted earlier in this thread about paypal being a great system. I have had to file 2 different claims last night. These are non shaving related places, but in both cases I paid for the items and never received them. Sent about 8 emails to both places . One place had a phone number and called that, but never heard from either company. So I sent another email last night saying that I have opened up a claim on them though paypal and Better Business Bureau. I guess we will see how much "buyer protection" paypal has.
As noted in my post above, I found them to be responsive and effective the one time I needed to file a claim. I hope your experience is the same.
Paypal helped when I spent £150 and the item never came. Full refund no problem. Paypal is why you can buy with confidence, if its not right you will get a refund. If your buying shave gear ask the seller questions about the condition of the item. Save the replies, if what the seller said turns out not to be true then you have all the proof you need if a refund becomes necessary.
AW Man ! I'm well mad to hear there is ass wipes like that around. Man I'd be getting on a plane and going round there. Even better report him to the police in his country. You can't let the toss stain get away with that. You must have the addy. Report him to the cops ! I thought vinyl collectors would be a bit more decent
