OK I am not good with wood at all. I love the wall mounted razor rack I have seen in this forum, and the step by step pictures help a lot. BUT I want to make something slightly different from that. My son has started to shave and we got him his own DE SS and brush so he needs a place to put them. I have my stand that sits on the counter and the addition of another stand will be just to much for SWMBO as I am getting complaints already. SO I want to do a wallmount with the brushes on the two outside positions and out two SS razors on the inside two. Does anybody out there have any idea on what I can use to hold the brushes? I would love any help you may have.
I don't think this is exactly what you are looking for, but I bent a wire coat hanger to hold the brush, and then screwed that to the medicine cabinet in my bathroom. I coated the hanger in plasti-dip so it won't scratch the brushes. You can see them in this picture.
Thanks Rodd - Your right that is not really what I had in mind but it looks fine and it is something I can do on my own. - Thanks for the idea.
How about something like this. You make a "el" out of thin wood then cut the slot to fit you razors and brushes. You could also use a "angle" made from aluminum or plastic.
Here is a link to WalMart. It would probably take two of these sconces to work for you, but it may have potential. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Delta-Victorian-Toothbrush-and-Tumbler-Holder-in-Aged-Pewter/13393974
Some of the craft stores sell unfinished shelves. You could buy one and cut your own notches. I have also made hooks-pins out of stainless deck screws. Screw them in then cut the heads off and smoth up with a file. If the screws are not perfectely straight I bend them.
I just built a wall mounted custom brush and razor rack you should check out and I have another cool idea I wouldn't mind sharing if you would post pictures of the finished project.
