Gotta admit, neither the wife nor I were too crazy about the English Fern scent when we smelled it in the bottle, so I was never in a big hurry to use it, but tonight for Menthol Monday I thought I would use it for the first time.

WOW! What a game changer when it hits the skin, momma and I both love the scent now, this stuff smells great! :D

JoAnna, a big THANK YOU! for another awesome scent! :signs107 :happy096

    Tuesday. It's been better.

    TSD Blueberry shave soap.
    Ever-Ready reknotted badger brush.
Gem OC Micromatic with Walgreens blade.

Okay shave, but this home re-knot is still losing too much hair. The other one I did seems to be a little better.

This soap doesn't give me the best results. Takes a lot of water and a lot of soap to get a decent lather.

    Tuesday:

    Omega Wooden Handle
    Super Speed/Triton day 3
    Rose of Bulgaria-SC
    Lubriderm unscented moisturizer
    Sir Canada Cedar-AS
    Santos de Cartier-EDT

My first shave with this Rose of Bulgaria cream, which smells VERY, VERY rosey, and lathers thick and rich, with good skincare. Menthol is listed as one of the ingredients, but I don't feel it, so I imagine that there isn't really enough to give a cooling sensation. It's still a good cream. ;) :D

    Hot Shower
    Glycerin Pre-shave
    Boker Red Injun #102
    Omega Boar Brush
    VDH Deluxe
    Corn Huskers Lotion
    Pinaud Lilac Vegetal

Seems like this razor gets better every time I pick it up. BBS shave today.

    -Omega SS
    -Gem Jr.
    -Ted Pella Blade (4)
    -TSD Iced Mojito Splash
    -Lab Series AS balm

-discovered a new use for the Proraso Pre/Post cream. My face felt a bit dry before going to sleep last night so I dabbed a bit on-it felt fantastic and I think contributed to a fantastic morning shave today. I'm not sure if this will become a nightly ritual for me, but it was mighty nice.

    Vulfix Badger Brush
    Glycerin Pre-shave
    Bio Palmyra (mentholated)

Nice shave today. I often overlook my HD in favor of some of my vintage razors but I am always happy to find it still provides a mighty fine shave.

    1980 Flair Tip.
    Red Personna
    Mühle Pure
    SWK Scuttle
Nanny's Silly Soap - Citrus Zinger
    Alum
    Brut Aquatonic AS
    Nivea ASB.

I believe this is a 1980 Flair - it is certainly the right date (A), but then i know that the date stamp "A" was used a number of different times - however the gent who sent this on to me said 1980, so hopefully it is my Birth year razor

Nice shave, though my issue with the Gillette is the same as with all the vintage razors i have tried - they are very small in the hand. I guess i have got very used to my EJ Chatsworth and Merkur Futur. I'm sure i will get used to them though.:D

    Have a pleasant day chaps.

Prep: Hot shower, hand strop blade
Coffee: Home roasted Costa Rica Tarrazu, BLACK
    Soap: TSD Cedarwood
Brush: 24mm Silvertip Red Mallee Burl from Elite Razor
Razor: Merkur HD with Red Mallee Burl from Elite Razor

Post: Tap water rinse, ice water splash, Brut A/S balm
    'Stache Wax: Wacky Tacky

    Great shave!

With the weather getting warmer, the city's tap water is warming, as well. Time to break out the .5 liter of water I keep in the 'fridge just for the warmer months. I do like my cold splash in the face after a shave.
