Friday - I took the day off! Prep: Hot shower, hand strop blade, soak brush Coffee: Home roasted Costa Rica Tarrazu, black Soap: TSD SOTQ Volume 1 Issue 2* Brush: Omega 10098 Razor: 1956 Gillette Red Tip Blade: Dorco ST-301 Post: Tap water rinse, ice water splash, Humphreys Maravilla Lotion, Curve 'Stache Wax: Wacky Tacky Shave Rating: 4 Blades The only thing that kept this shave from a 5 rating was the fact I missed just the slightest bit stubble along the left jaw line. Another great soap from JoAnna. :signs107 *Hey, JoAnna, might you consider date coding your SOTQ using the old Gillette coding system? The first soap would be A1, this quarter's soap A2, and so on. Just a thought.

Friday Razor: Merkur HD Blade: Israeli Personna (7) Brush: Altesse Badger Soap/Cream: SCS Juniper Mist A/S: AV Ice Sport The St. Charles Shave Juniper Mist cream has a wonderful scent, but I have a tough time getting the lather I like out of it. I just can't seem to figure out the right amount of water to use for this one.
Friday, April 9, 2010 Razor: Merkur Futur on 2.0 Blade: Super Iridium Brush: Vie-Long 16510 White Badger Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Cream: Cyril Salter Classic Almond (Reformulated Version) A/S: Penhaligons Bleinheim Bouquet ASB As I continue to experiment with the Vie-Long brush I have discovered that it is an excellent cream brush. I bowl lathered the reformulated Cyril Salter cream and was rewarded with copious amounts of lather. I am happy to report that the newly reformulated Salter cream appears to be the equal to the older version and I enjoyed an irritation free BBS shave. The Bleinheim Bouquet was an excellent way to finish the shave.
Friday shave Ok, Proraso/Bigelow week is coming to an end and I can't wait to try the TSD Monkey Farts SS I got from Bill. So the last shave for theme week (for me anyhow): hot shower C.O. Bigelow SC EJ 25mm silvertip '55 Gillette Bluetip Superspeed Merkur "shred-ur-face-omatic" blade Shop-Rite knock-off Skin Bracer Not a terrible shave considering my set up this morning. I must admit that I am not a fan of the Merkur blades but I didn't cut myself, it just pulled and tugged every inch of the way. I don't know if they are digging through the trash and "recycling" used blades or what but their blades are not good. The bluetip is simply too mild of a razor for me, as I have stated previously. All in all though, It wasn't a bad shave, just a forgettable one. Now, BRING ON THE MONKEY FARTS!!!!!!!
Merkur HD feather blade (3) vdh boar brush glycerin pre shave TSD SOTQ A2 Old Spice Pure Sport after shave, splash of Osage Rub Good shave today. Tossed the feather, today's was acceptable but a hair uncomfortable. New sotq is even better than the first installment.

Loving it instead..)) _________
SOTD Friday April 9, 2010 Razor: GEM G-Bar Blade: GEM Personna SS Soap/Mug: Tabac Brush: Medium Badger ASB: Nivea Replenishing Aftershave: Aqua Velva Musk BBS shave in 2 passes! The GEM G-Bar is an awesome razor! I used the GEM 1912 yesterday and the G-Bar is as good or even better than the 1912 and that is saying a lot! Beautiful, smooth and efficient, what more could you ask from a razor. I have noticed that when I use the SE razors, I really don't have much to shave the next day. I am impressed!

Friday, April 09, 2010 Razor: EJ Chatsworth Blade: Bolzano Superinox Brush: Vulfix 2234 Super Cream: TOBS Sandalwood A/S: Generic Witch Hazel, Ogallala Bay Rum & Sandalwood Very nice shave, and my face feels really smooth, but I think I'll change out the Bolzano (this was shave #4). It was starting to tug a little, especially in the chin area, and life is too short to shave with a dull blade.
Friday, middle of the afternoon. One of those strange schedule shaves. Been about 40 hours since my last shave.
