I cannot say enough praises for this Palmolive Cool cream. The Mennen Skin Bracer aftershave provided the perfect closing chill. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8WD0WVL-HjE
Grandpa Shave Friday Hot Shower Glycerin Pre-shave 6/8" Boker Barber Tip (first shave with this razor) Semogue 2000 Palmolive shavestick Corn Huskers Lotion Brut Splash Pretty close to a BBS shave. If it's anything like the others though, this razor will improve exponentially after a few weeks of use and a touch up hone or two. This razor is interesting to me because it has the heft of a wedge but I seem to get a little feedback and while not as concave as my Red Injun 102, it certainly delivers a hollow ground-like shave but still feels a lot like a wedge in my hand.

Arko cream always impresses me with its quality and bargain price. The Speick splash, as usual, was a fine finish.
I agree! I picked one up a few weeks back for $5 brand spankin' new. Only had a tiny bit of the shellac missing off the base of the ball exposing the gold. Awesome shaver. I'm glad you like yours too.

I noticed the head on this Tech is a tad different than the head on my Ball End Tech. That may be why I got a better shave out of the Fat Handle Tech than what I get with the Ball End. The Ball End is just TOO mild for my taste. As for my venture in using str8s, I'm saving up a few bucks. I want to send three of them out to Lynn for honing, and I need to get a strop. My birthday is in a few weeks, so I'll probably be able to get what I want then.

Glad to hear that you will soon be venturing into the world of straights Steve. Smart move to start off with some well honed straights from the get-go! Hope the "Birthday Bunny" gets you all set up with the Strop.
SOTD Friday April 16, 2010 Razor: 1930 Gillette New OC Blade: Dorco Soap: Classic Shaving Lilac Mug: Vintage Old Spice Brush: Omega Boar 81052 ASB: Nivea Replenishing Aftershave: Pinaud Lilac Vegetal BBS shave with the Gillette New this morning! Great shaving razor. Haven't used a DE for over two weeks so thought I'd better get one out and blow the dust off of it. Used the Omega Boar I got from Scott (sb9091) this morning and I am really impressed! Thanks Scott! I have used the Burma Shave boars and some vintage boars but, this Omega is awesome! Soaked it last night and did a couple of practice lathers with it and noticed the smell wasn't very bad at all. This morning it proved to be quite the lathermeister and was amazingly soft on the first usage. With the Lilac shave soap the boar smell was virtually gone after the first shave. This Omega Boar didn't feel any more scritchy than some medium pure badger brushes and it's only the first use. This thing should really break-in nice! Great shaves shown by all this week Gents! Thanks for sharing! :happy005
