Ok so I was on a shave soap adventure and saw a store that sells our beloved col conk soaps.

I went in to see the prices and they were selling them for $20 bucks!
I asked the guy why so much when you can get them online for 4 bucks and he yelled at me to get out!

Needless to say that store won't have my business no more.

The owner must be a retired Pharmaceutical big wig. Used to a %1000 mark up and profit.

Yeah that sounds very ridiculous and shady. For him to basically yell at you to get out was just plain disrespectful! I'd tell all your friends about the awful service and to not shop there. Wet shaving is such a niche market and for him to refuse a potential customer is ludicrous. I'm assuming most of the items on the shelves were covered in dust.

    There isn't a soap made that's worth $20.00.

Yes, that is too much to pay for Conk. Not unlike the $5.00 asking price I saw the other day for Williams Mug Soap! Which is a fine soap, but you can find Williams out there for under a buck in certain locales...

Along that line, I was at Bath and Body Works yesterday. They want $5.00 for a 1.7oz tube of C.O. Bigalow SC....but then online you can get a 5oz tube for $10.00....so the BBW price seems a little high when compared to the cost per ounce.

But then again, (and not in defense of the pricing,) brick and mortar stores do have a huge overhead to deal with.

Yeah it wa rude but oh well. It's not a pure shave shop tho, it was a cigar store with a wet shaving display. Maybe he was mad that I didn't wanna buy his cigars?

    hmmmmm...

Inexcusable. I hear a dozen eggs goes for less than two bucks though... depending on the target it may be worth the investment to not even derive caloric energy or nutrients if one were to...

Speaking of Williams. I saw a puck of it for sale at metro(one of the grocery stores here) for 3 bucks.

I should have bought that instead of walking into that cigar store

:rolleyes005 No matter how tempting it may be.

Still, I've seen folks pay $20.00 for a puck of antique vintage soap before.

Which is what that Conk will be by the time he sells it at that price. :D

    Thats funny

I wonder if there was any customers in the shop that could hear your question. I doesn't matter how much he was asking for the soap its his shop. internet and retail are not the same just like walmart and mom and pop shops.
