I love my Crabtree & Evelyn Rose bath Soap...Yes, Rose...I know it's not the most masculine scent, but boy does it lather! I mean thick gobs of lather, and a bar lasted me about 6 weeks, which is phenomenal for a bath bar, wouldn't you agree? Alas. it is no longer available in the original formula and I find myself in need of a new bath soap.

I would like one with a masculine scent, but my main requirement is gobs of thick rich lather. I would also like for it to last a good while. I shower in the morning and evening and sometimes mid-day if my day goes awry, so a long-lasting soap is a requirement. I'd also prefer one that is high quality.

    Any thoughts?

Brother, watchoo need is Nana June's Citrus Wake Me Up Bath Soap and the matching Shave Soap:

    HERE and HERE

Guaranteed to smack you in the face and wake you up. If you need confirmation just ask TSD Board Member 1OLDGI! he turned me on to the shave soap and I ordered the bath soap by mistake but it was a happy mistake! Now I have both and LOVE THEM!

For lasting a long time, I like triple milled or French milled soaps. Pre De Provence is my first choice, with several scents to choose from. I get mine locally, but BullGoose has them online.
edit: Let me add I don't recommend the Honey Almond scent - it has actual honey which seems to mess with the lather.

Savon de Marseille olive oil soap? It is a great bath soap and a reasonably good shaving soap, too. Best of all, it comes in large 600 gram and 1 kg sizes. They can be cut up into smaller pieces and will last a long time. A number of online storefronts carry this soap, including some wetshaving stores.

I gotta put a plug in for Ogallala Bay Rum soaps. They lather great, esp. if you use a pouf thing. Plus they're all natural ingredients and come in several scents. John M. is the man, very pleasant and professional to deal with.

I've been using Tone bath soap. Lasts me usually a week and a half to two weeks? I would like to find a bar that will last me 2 to 4 months.

My dad had a pair of Hemp pants that he used when he was clearing brush. He said he could get "in the middle of things" and nothing could get through them, but they never made him chafe like some of his other pants. I didn't even know what Hemp was associated with until I was around 25...Yes..I led a sheltered life...! I'll give it a shot!

If you don't mind their background, they make great bath soaps too. I got the signature scent and its wonderful, smells minty and they are 7oz.bars, they're huge. Should last awhile.

A trippled milled French Shea butter soap from L'Epi de Provence, Pre de Provence, Cie' de Provence or Mistral. Maybe a real Savon de Marseille or an Aleppo Soap. An English or other European soap from Yardley, Bronnley, Nesti Dante or Claus Porto......

"Authentics" or unscented Savon de Marseille or an Aleppo Soap are not that great smelling, but as with the Shea butter soaps there are lots of scented varieties of Savon de Marseille. My current favourites is Lavender or Verbena.

I can second the Dr. Bronner's Hemp soap nomination as well. I grabbed a bar yesterday and it lathers impressively.

I like Imperial Leather and Wright's coal tar soap. Both are very masculine and IMHO lather well. Cheapish too :)

For bars... give the Skin Milk bath bar (via Kmart) or Cashmere Bouquet mild beauty bar (via Big Lots) a test drive. The latter being the most affordable.
