Razor: Gillette NEW with Cooncat handle
    Blade: Super Iridium
    Brush: Simpson Ehsan
    Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Soap: D.R. Harris Arlington
    A/S: Royall Lime

I enjoyed a great shave this morning. I really like the Harris soaps and I am now considering withdrawing the Royall Lime from the B/S/T. It makes a great summer aftershave.

Great shave with the Wostie Chopper. I don't know why I don't include it in my rotation more ofter. I think it's just so intimidating looking that I think I'll cleave my head off but, it's actually a very smooth and comfortable shaver that is a real pleasure to use. It provides a very close comfortable shave and the 1/4" wide spine has plenty of heft to take care of any whisker that challenges it. :D

Don't know what to tell you Bill. I opened a box of 20 packs of "Horizontals". The 1st 2 packs every blade was great, in fact 3 blades into the second pack I wrote something about how consistant these Derbs were. Next 2 packs have had 3 bad blades a pack. Still have 16 packs to go, hopefully the consistancy will go back up. I'll let you know...:))

BTW; When I had bulk Verticals I only got 1 good one per pack so I traded out...The funny thing is, all the blades; whether "Horizontal" or "Verts"; that had BOLD DARK printing shaved great, but the ones that didn't, DIDN'T..

Thanks for the info Lloyd but I don't think I'll gamble on the Derby's, I have several other brands that I like all most as well, and I'll just rely on them.

Luckily JoAnna carries my Derby replacements in the store, so when I place my next order I'll stock up. :)

Perfect shave. I don't understand all the complaints about Derby blades. I ordered 100 of the "vertical" package blades, have used about 20 and haven't had a single bad blade.

Bill, how'd you like the Supermax blade? Was it the super stainless in the yellow/green pack? I last had some of them 'bout a year ago but remember them being very good - getting (if I remember right) 7+ shaves per blade.

Anthony it was a Supermax super stainless in a blue and white pack:

Not sure where I got it at as it is the only one I have, I think it may have came from Baloosh. The shave wasn't too bad, a little tugging at first, but it settled down.

Good shave today. I face lathered which I dint usually do. But even my crappy vdh can whip the thing into a nice frothy cream.

They say Sailors used to drink Aqua Velva but now they put a bittering agent in it to discourage this activity. I'm curious if any of our older members have any anecdotes regarding this outlawed refreshment.

    Still, a solid 4 blade rating!:D

    shower
    Parker 80R razor
    Merkur blade(4 or 5?)
Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Special shampoo
    cold water splash
    Ogallala Bay Rum AS

5 blades for sure! Closest shave I've had in a while, even with my SE razors. I used to use the Paul Mitchell shampoo as a shave lotion when I was using the Mach 3 b/c the lady at the salon where my wife went recommended it. Thought I'd try it with my DE as I haven't to this point.

It was a good move. Slick stuff that gives a great close shave. Put it on like a shave oil and off ya go. Plus, for you face freezing menth heads out there it has a healthy shot of peppermint oil for the face freeze, esp. after a cold water splash. Also lots of other good stuff like tea tree oil, ginger oil, and lavender oil. Glad I tried this one!

The standard fabulous shave with this razor. This is shave 13 since its last honing and it seems to just stay insanely sharp with just routine stroppings. Every time I start to think I should hone it, I strop it and it renders a BBS shave.

Nord Ost is made by the same company as Tet a tet and Everest, which is Kalina Concern, which is in Ekaterinburg, Russia. It gives tons of fantastic lather, with a very nice scent and some menthol. The Gillette Fusion balm is powerfully mentholated, as well as very moisturizing--I really like it. ;) :D

Some folks love 'em, others hate 'em, and others can take e'em or leave 'em, but for me; Feathers have never failed to deliver an outstanding shave.

This was the first go with the Clix and also the Lea Stick. Both cost me $3.00 each and are a great value, especially during this economic climate.
