Bill, how are you doing? I hope you're feeling better. Monday's Shave Hot Shower Arko SS Omega 10029 Baby-Pro Boar Gillette 1952 'Black Tip' Super Speed-Steel/Astra SP (Day1) Arko Citrus AS Cream Arko Aqua AS Splash Jaguar Fresh EDT Rating: 5 Blades I just got a BarberShop or closer shave with ZERO redness or irritation in 2 Passes... I would never call this razor non-aggressive because of how close it shaves; but the way my skin feels afterwards is like a razor never touched my face; so in that regard it is very mild... Kind of a "Dual Personality"...) PS I want to thank TSD for the best shaves I've ever had....And Thanks to Stingrays/Jeff again for hooking me up with this razor, it's really a treasure....)
Mongrel Monday Frankensoap Omega Boar Ever-Ready 1914 Treet Blade (2) The soap started out as milled new formula Erasmic Shave Stick, and acquired leftover bits of Williams, TSD Blueberry, and something else which escapes me at the moment. Worked really well today, although I needed a lot of water.

The Palmolive Menthol cream can make Proraso Green feel warm, and it has such fantastic lather and skincare. The scent also drives me crazy! The Alt Innsbruck is in a class by itself--it's one of the best aftershaves I ever had.

Not sure if you caught my post-the very last on SOTD last week-Yes My Palmolive Menthol is the Italian variety-and I love it, and I learned of it from you-so thanks!!
Monday... No Name Badger TSD SubZero / Bigelow SC Schick Injector - Type I Schick Blade (4) AV Ice Blue Classic The first try with the sub zero soap and I found the lather disappointing. I wasn't sure what I did wrong with it, so I just added some Bigelow shave cream to the brush. It was most likely my technique and having too much water in the brush. Think it's time to switch blade as day 4 made for some rough times on the neck. I heard it cutting, but it just wasn't getting the job done as quickly and had to do an extra neck pass. Still better then the Mach 3, but today gets a rating of 3/5.

It also takes more agitation than you're probably used to, stick on the puck twice as long or longer, and then hit your face or bowl.

Monday John Blyde "Genius" 5/8ths half hollow french point Omega 80080 boar brush Proraso Green s/c Pinaud Lime Sec a/s Givenchy Vetyver e de c The Givenchy was a gift from my sister and brother-in-law, who visited us in Toronto last week. It's a nice memento of a very happy visit and a really good fragrance :happy108 Unlike the rest of my razors, this Blyde didn't respond well to the Thuringian hone, but has improved gradually with alot of work on the pasted strop. It's giving a pretty close and comfortable shave now. goshawk
Thanks. I will give it a shot tomorrow. Just didn't have time to diagnose my issues as I needed to finish the shave and hustle off to work so I wasn't late.

Monday PAL Injector-matic Feather SE blade (adapted) (1) Omega Pro #49 Monsavon bol à raser G Bellini Ice AS After reading in some shaving forums about adapting the Feather SE blades [the ones used in fromms/cobra classic and dovo shavettes] to fit injectors, I thought I would have a go as I had some lying around, so a pair of tin snips later I loaded one into the PAL and a remarkable close smooth shave was had, not quite a BBS, didn't even bother with ASB because the shave was that smooth. Monday, August 02, 2010 Razor: Merkur Futur Blade: Super Iridium Brush: Simfix Grosvenor LE Super Soap: Cella A/S: Generic Witch Hazel, Ogallala Bay Rum, Limes, & Peppercorns Toner Mmmm...nice shave! Would you believe that there are actually folks out there who don't like the smell of Cella? :happy102 I must admit that if I poke my nose into the pot of Cella and take a deep whiff, I come up with a scent that has a base note of Grandma's lye soap and a top note of lard, with maybe a tertiary note of almond. But when I'm shaving, all I notice is the nice glide and cushion, not to mention how nice my face feels after the shave. As long as I can obtain Cella, it will always be in my rotation. I found the Ogallala Bay Rum, Limes & Peppercorns toner to be a great finish to this shave, leaving a light, intoxicating scent that politely leaves within an hour or so.
Hey, Dale. Yeah, I agree with Aaron. I find that with all my soaps I'll stay on 'em until the lather gets to just about where I want it. Then I'll use the brush and push the lather into my lather bowl and finish whipping it up. Staying on the puck helps make up for errors of too much water. Not always, but more often than not.
