Shave Of The Day - August 3rd Music: Journey Hot Shower E.J Badger Brush Feats of Clay Scuttle TSD Soap - Monkey Farts Scent - 4 drops M-Bomb - :freezing :freezing British Slim Twist - I-4 Derby Blade - Day 1 TSD Aftershave Splash - Iced SubZero Scent - :freezing :freezing :freezing Late night rushed shower, and I forgot to apply the ISZ Preshave Balm. It proved that the balm really works for me as I just couldn't get as close a shave as I have been getting, even with extra touchup passes, the whiskers just wouldn't cut. The balm definitely softens my whiskers for my shave. That drops what would have been a fantastic, great smelling shave down to 3.5 blades.

Wednesday: Omega Wooden Handle Ming Shi/Sharp day 3 Palmolive Cool-SC :love008 :love008 :anifrozen :anifrozen Lubriderm unscented moisturizer Barbon-AS Acqua di Selva-Cologne I definitely cannot get more than 3 shaves from a blade--there's no use in trying to fool myself. The Sharps are excellent, but my beard is so tough, that after the 3rd shave they are finished. I wanted to use one of the other creams I received yesterday, but it's going to be very humid today, so I grabbed the Palmolive Cool cream, and I'm glad I did!
Bleeding like a pig Razor-Stephan Straight with Ted Pella PFTE SE blade Rescue razor-EJ with Ebony Handle/KAI blade Tabac Stick Rudy Vey custom Finest Badger Brush with Silver handle Thayers Home Crystal Mentholated Unscented Witch Hazel Styptic Pencil-couldn't find my suture equipment -That razor is a monster-basically an SE blade sticking out with it's sharp corners and all. I'm putting this sucker away until I get much much better at straights-1 in. slice on left cheek early in the game-finished that side and thought, "this is nuts" so I finished with the EJ. -Got some Crystal Menth yesterday-I'll never reveal my source but he knows who he is and knows I'm grateful-It wakes up my Thayer's unscented from a boring soothing splash to an Arctic one. I can't wait to mentholate everything in site-I wonder how my tuna sandwich for lunch would taste mentholated???? 2 blades-still got a descent shave with the EJ-Nobody told me learning straights would be bloodless. I gotta admit I was getting a bit cocky about shaving with anything I can get my hands on-lesson learned. Anybody got a few extra pints of A+ blood laying around?

Happy Wednesday From Florida! Hot Shower RAB Scuttle Fuller Handle / TGN Synthetic Re-Knot Monsavon Soap Schick Krona Perma-Sharp Blade (1) Cold Water Rag Witch Hazel / Alum Powder Blend TSD Egyptian Spice ASM Florida Water 4 Passes + Blade Buffing = 5 Blade, Off The Hook, Bang A Gong BBS! My newly re-knotted Fuller Brush is heavy and feels very substantial in the hand. The TGN synthetic knot is way softer than the TBS synthetic brush that I have. It whipped up a batch of Monsavon lather very easily. Monsavon is a great soap and I encourage anyone looking to try a new soap to get some. Monsavon is definitely on my buy it again list.
Wednesday, August 04, 2010 Razor: Jaggerooney Blade: Super Iridium Brush: Simpson Emperor 2 Soap: Cyril Salter A/S: RazoRock Alum Stick,Thayer's Lemon Witch Hazel, Speick Splash Excellent shave until the final touchup, when I got in a bit of a hurry and the razor bit me on the chin. Using both alum and WH was probably overkill, but I'm presently on a blood thinner and wanted to make sure I didn't continue to bleed. I hadn't had a nick in a very long time, but it shows that inattention and hurrying are to be avoided when wet shaving. By the way, the RazoRock is a very effective and convenient astringent.
Wednesday, another injector Schick C1 magazine repeater Pella blade (1) Penworks Silvertip Musgo cream Great shave with the only open comb injector I know of. Sometimes I like Musgo more than other times. The quality never lets me down, but some mornings I don't care so much for the smell.

Tuesday and Wednesday's Shaves Arko SS Omega 10029 Baby-Pro Boar Astra SP/Tue. Day1/Wed. Day3 Gillette 1965 Adjustable/Tue.@4/Wed.@3 Arko Citrus AS Cream Arko Aqua AS Splash Jaguar Fresh EDT Both days got shiney BBS, couldn't ask for any better...But the irritation factor was present...Tue. shaving bumps were present at end of shave, but dissappered 1 1/2 hours later, leaving just an incredible BBS. But later in the day while walking around in this heat, once the sweat broke out...Burn, baby Burn... Today turned down one setting. Still got the same slick BBS without the bumps, but with a shave this close I like to rub my face all day and appreciate the shave...But today my skin was just a little too sensitive for that...We're having record degree heat this summer, like most the world seems to be having ...In this weather, I don't think I need to venture too far from the comfort of my '52 'black tip' Super Speed...) Looking forward to tomorrow morning, and hopefully being able to enter the Super Speed Comfort Zone...I WANT IT...Thats the plan anyway...I'll try not to screw it up...We Shall See Tomorrow...

SOTD Wednesday August 4, 2010 Razor: 5/8 Geo. Wostenholm Pipe Razor Full Hollow, Round Point Shaving Cream: Ingram Lather Bowl: Ceramic Scuttle: RAB Ceramic Brush: Col Conk Barbershop Badger ASB: Nivea Replenishing Aftershave: Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue The Ingram Shave Cream was great! Lots of cushion and glide similar to the Erasmic. The scent of the Ingrams was very pleasant. It has a clean Linen scent and reminds me of clean laundry. There must be a little menthol in there as well. It felt nice and cool very refreshing on a 96F day! It didn't hold it's lather as well as the Erasmic but it would rejuvenate immediately with a few drops of water and a stir with the brush. Excellent shave cream! :happy005
Bummer 'bout the shave, Danny. Here's :eatdrink047 to hoping your next venture with a straight is a 5-blader!!
